Gamal Abdel Nasser was Western/American backed? Get the F outta here. Atleast read up on some Egyptian history on wikipedia or something before making dumba.ss comments.
Hint: Egypt's social/foreign policies were heavily Soviet backed up until around the 1970s. The U.S. did not have good relations with Egypt until around the late-70s.
