   Does the fact that the Giants committed a penalty cause it to "offset" vs. being tacked on at the end of the play. If so, there needs to be a rule change. You can't reward a team for committing a penalty.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. 
In college, you can have scores negated for taunting before you score. That's all I can compare it to. But that CLEARLY came after the play was blown dead.
