Hey guys,
I was hoping you could give me some advice on what to wear to a law school formal. The dress code is not explicitly stated, but I can tell you for sure that it is not formal wear (tuxedo). The event will be in the evening at a nice hotel.
Since it is in the evening, I was assuming that a black suit might be the preferred option. The problem is that I only have a black suit from high school; needless to say, it is out of style and fits poorly. My other options are a charcoal gray suit or a navy suit with pinstripes. Which of these two options would you recommend? Also, should I wear black shoes or chocolate brown? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

go with the charcoal grey ... blue or white crisp shirt, a white pocket square ... no tie. should be formal enough but not too formal.

Question, is there a down "bubble" jacket where you can remove to sleeves and wear it as a vest? I'd like both both a jacket and vest but would obviously rather buy just one.

Anyone here forced to wear slightly bigger shirts/jackets to match their lower body? I'm a slim guy but have really muscular legs for someone my size. Whenever I wear exact fitted shirts it just looks so damn goofy

Uniqlo sells one. I believe it was called the "Explorer" jacket. Might seem like a hassle, but I think you can call and have them ship.

I'd still wear a suit if it were me, I'd get a nice beige or light grey, cotton suit. Wear it with loafers and a white shirt.

if i wear it out at night i'll put a sports shirt under.

Yeah usually I amw ith you with epaulets but with this one, it is a pilot jacket so I am fine with it.
