Classic suiting has nothing to do with fashion icons.

If we argued that a more cropped look would be more stylish, then there is more validity to your post.

I am just offering something simple like a sleeve shortening would help with what he wore as he seemed to believe the fit was perfect.

Looks pretty good overall.  I agree that you should have the sleeves shortened a little. I like my pants slimmer but it's a matter of preference and it's not like yours are terribly baggy or unflattering.  Other than that, I also agree your tie knot is disproportionately big and you should undo your bottom button.

For Off the Rack everything is great. All the critiques mentioned are just a matter of preference. Nothing is too big, nothing is too small. two thumbs up bro.
And just for the record, it is ok to have a blazer/sport coat with longer sleeves, sport coats are traditionally worn with some extra fabric, and it is acceptable that the sleeve length is slightly longer than the sleeves on a Suit.

I would dress slightly above business casual unless it is an IT job. Chinos, White/Blue Shirt, Navy Blazer, Tie, and oxfords. No desert boots until I get the job.

Gonna have to start dressing better since I'm about to start working. The workplace is causal setting, so I don't necessarily have to wear a suit or tie (I will every now and then though). My question is, how many pants, shirts and shoes should I keep in the rotation? And what type of clothing/color? For example should I be shopping for chinos, slacks, etc. and the best brand. How do you guys mix and match your days? I enjoy my rotation in clothing and sneakers, so I would obviously like to translate this into the working world.

The advice would be greatly appreciated.

If we're talking absolute basic here, then I would go with something like this:

Pants/Trousers:
1 pair of dark grey trouser
1 pair of light grey trousers
1 pair of navy blue trouser
1 pair of chinos/khakis
1 pair of dark rinse jeans

Shirts
1 white color shirt
1 blue color shirt
1 white color with stripe shirt
1 blue color with strip shirt

Sweaters/cardigans etc
1 Navy blue V-neck
1 Black V-neck
1 Charcoal V-neck

Shoes
1 pair of black oxfords
1 pair of brown oxfords
1 pair of walnut oxfords
1 pair of brown loafers
1 pair of black loafers
1 pair of desert boots

As for brands, this really depends on your taste and style. What kind of look are you going for? From what I've noticed and observed--what people wear dictates the lifestyle they have. Certain brands cater to specific lifestyles. This is why companies like Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Facconable and Vineyard Vines have a particular "look" to their business casual clothing. Compared to other brands such as H&M, Gap, Zara, J.Crew and Uniqlo etc--you'll get a much more different "feel" and "look" to the style. You get what I mean?

Usually for rotations and how I mix and match--I go by the seasons and my mood for the day. I wouldn't necessarily wear bright or light colors if it's winter and raining like crazy outside. On a beautiful day like today, I have on this something close to this set-up.

Some of these names crack me up. Smart casual? Linen and seersucker are good. If you want to wear a jacket opt for no lining.

J.Crew has them. Really the only online store that I've seen with them. I want a couple myself but havent gotten around to it. Still waiting to get into better shape before I go really deep into clothes shopping.

When looking online you see way more womens ones than mens, and when you do find mens theyre always short sleeved. I'd much prefer to get all long sleeved and then roll the sleeves if need be.

I think this would look better with a belt

A belt is meant to hold your pants up. If the pants fit properly, you don't need a belt. Personal preference at that point

Tucking in a button down, but leaving almost every button undone? Why even wear the shirt at that point? Showing some chest is one thing, this dude is showing bellybutton
