Dressing Better Vol 2.0

There's a common theme here.....

That pic of MJ and DJ is old. But even so, I've seen pics of MJ recently and he still dresses very sloppy. Doesn't have to be modern/slim-fitting suits, but damn. How do you still make over $50 million a year from Jordan brand and dress that way?

^
A lot of rich people dress like slobs. They don't give a damb. Dressing well is down on their priority list. It's like when I see someone who always wears nice clothes but they have bad haircuts.

Fine dressing is a hobby, just like collecting time pieces or fine automobiles. Not everyone is into it, similar to how all affluent individuals don't drive $100k+ cars.

Today:

Not a fan of the high rise, but the pants look really nice.
Any idea of what type of material that is?

Love the fit as always Wis!
Thanks, man. I finally found a solution for the oxford chinos. I had them tapered in a bit more and hemmed up for no break. They're extremely lightweight, about 6 oz or so and I never liked the way the hem laid on the shoes.

Per his blog:

"My new favourite trousers in Porter and Harding donegal style tweed, high waisted, forward pleated & buckle side adjusters, from my friends at Cad & the Dandy. Worn with a flannel shirt, ‘Alden’ cap in Russel plaid &, yes, a cravat. "

PS...anyone else on Pinterest? I started mine up several days ago and still looking to get the hang of it. It's kinda complicated to use :lol

Good work on those pants, they look perfect

Put Wis's gift to use for yesterday's outfit:

Also decided to check out one of my favorite thrift shops yesterday. Found this awesome 3 piece prince of wales suit for $10. Pants definitely weren't going to fit (no dressing room to even try) but the jacket and waist coat were awesome!

...until i realized it was a 36R :(

Anyone know where I can find some wool trousers that are less than 100 bucks?

When it comes to peacoats and overcoats are they the same size as your suit/sports jacket?

Depends.. Peacoats and Overcoats are usually sized differently. Peacoats are typically your standard sizes (S, M, L, etc..) but, overcoats can be sized like Peacoats or suit/sport jacket sizes like 40R, 40L, etc..

I typically stay true to size for Peacoats, and size up once depending on the overcoat, since I'll be wearing a suit/sport jacket under.

Gf has good taste, my friend!

At that price point it's going to be cheap wool mix unfortunately. Gap has some for around $60 iirc.

It's a J. Crew dress shirt. It's one of the newer models with a slim collar, not sure the name of it though. IMO good for on sale, but not retail. Retail was around 70 or 80 bucks.

Same budget, Banana Republic or Lands End Year Rounders. They will be mix blend.

Think the next pair I purchase will be from ePaulet. Liked some of theirs but thy are north of $100.

Yeah I dont want a mixed blend. I'll just have to go with epaulet as well, was hoping to see if there were any other options though.

i've been eyeing it for a while and we're going to paris in a couple weeks. so she knew if i made it that long without getting one that i would have copped there. i was iffy on the red but it is definitely great looking after handling it more.

Got my AE's from the factory sale, they will make nice work shoes.

Good stuff, man. My female friends have been trying to set me up with their girls, and I found out if the girl doesn't have the same superlative taste as you do, it's awkward as heck :lol

Take some pics in Paris!

I stopped by Hollywood to kill some time and snapped a few pictures:

My man on the drums called me out and stated that I had racks in the man purse. He said he knows 'my type'...the pretty Asian boys :lol I gave him an A for effort for that.

The store that sold the sneakers is a consignment shop. I was wondering why they had XIs sitting like that. I saw the price tag....$500.

I also wanted to get that Suge Knight suit :smokin :lol

A: good stuff, man. Glad to see you're enjoying the stuff!
