Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Looks so cheap and classless bro. I can tell how horrible the construction is and can tell that the wool is from the US and not from a 800 year old mill in Italy.

I've been wanting to try out the down jackets from uniqlo. Have only heard good reviews about them. I need to take a look at their duffel coats and blazers too.
One just opened up at my local mall. I can't get down with the sheen of the jackets tho. The black joint reminds me of that missy Elliot video. The duffel coat looks ok but it's very thin and the toggles are the only form of closure so I imagine it can be pretty drafty and not that warm.

Yeah, I don't like how they look shiny. They have the new stretch down jackets that are in matte colors. Would be better without the hood.

My outwear needs a tune up.
What are good fall jackets to cop?
Stylish, utilitarian, cheap, and ultimately good at keeping me warm.
$150 is the highest I'm willing to spend.

Look around for a Spiewak N3B Parka. They are the warmest jackets available. Make sure you buy an original. I copped on sale last year for less than 100.

Hey Dressing Better crew. I'm pretty unsure on what to do in my current situation with a Ralph Lauren Black Label suit I just was able to score on eBay. I got it for a real steal of a price (300$) with it being "new without tags" when the retail for this Anthony model of suits is around 1800. It's very rare to see them go (even on eBay for this cheap) as they are fully-canvassed and generally high quality suits. The problem is that when I received the suit, it has about a 2 mm or smaller hole (maybe a snag) on the top right shoulder. It isn't that visible and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb but it wasn't advertised in the listing. I really like the cut and fit of these suits for my body type off the rack but wanted some advice for those who are more experienced with tailoring than myself. Can a hole of such small diameter be patched easily without much trace? I don't know if I want to go through the entire long process of paypal claims etc. to return it as other than the very small hole, it is in perfect condition. I guess it's more of a nit-picky thing knowing that there is a small hole in the jacket that bothers me. Would you guys return it or keep it and fix it? or just wear it?

(Sorry, Pictures are now added)

Without pictures it's hard to say. Bring it to a tailor, if they can't fix it contact the seller.

DB peeps. Does anyone have any tips for getting stains out of a white oxford shirt? I'm not exactly sure as to the origin of the stains...

I've never had a hole in one of my suits so I can't say, I'd imagine it's not easy to repair seamlessly. Personally, I don't care what it might retail for but I am not paying for something that was misrepresented and especially not for a suit with a hole in it. I don't see how a hole no matter how big or small is something you're being nit picky over. What happens if & when the hole becomes bigger or you try to get it fixed and it doesn't come out looking great?

Have you contacted the seller?

I would return that suit, personally. I hate ebay sellers that try and pull stuff like this. He's just hoping you'll be the sucker to let it slide. Don't be that guy that lets it slide. $300 is still no chump change.

Dumb move on the seller's part. The kind of guy that is buying a Ralph Lauren Black Label suit is obviously going to pay close attention to the details. Maybe they can get away with that on a pair of jeans or something like that, but certainly not on a higher end suit.

Of course you can take it to an expert and see what they say. Doesn't hurt to have an extra opinion.

Take it to a tailor and see what they can do. If they can fix it to your liking negotiate a partial refund with the seller...if not return it and make the seller pay for return shipping.

It can be repaired, I believe you have to get someone who can re-weave it. They'll take the cloth from any excess cloth (such as the seams of the jacket or hem in the pants) and fill it in with that. A good re-weaver will make it look like it was never there. However, this can run you anywhere between $50-100.

If anyone ever gets a chance to go to the SuitSupply store in Georgetown, ask for my man Vernon;

He's my go to guy when I need to pick something up..

Just pulled the trigger Ludlow Chino Suit...

44R was gone, so went with 44L. I'm 6'0, so I'm at the border of R and L, if it doesn't work I'll just return it. Can't go wrong for $160.

Places are blowing out summer suits.

Can anyone show me a great source for lapel pins?

Perhaps some explanations on how to best wear them?

Thank you so much

I think a few here were making some homemade flower lapel pins, which were nice. I got a few from Etsy a year or so back.

Should be simple enough to wear.

I think this one is homemade but A himself.
