DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

^ smallville I get.. im talking adult in the suit proper supes

Like I have never watched Gotham, but have young Bruce is ok (not heavily involved.. but have Gordon check in on him type thing) and have Wayne enterprise stuff is cool.. or like early days of important villains, is ok

the last season of Gotham will supposedly dive into Bruce turning into Bats

as for Smallville, he was practically an adult and he may not have the suit but dude was practically Supes as the blur and the logo on his CW-pleather jacket so in a way I consider that being Superman plus they've had Lois & Clark show too while the last Batman tv series was in the 60s

they couldn't even mention Batman in Smallville or any shows for that matter

Yea doing year 1 bats is too far for me or anything done in batman begins

Show him going off to boarding school or be referred to as a troubled teen trying deal with stuff

I didn't really watch smallville like that other than knowing the premise.. but I'm cool with high school supes and/or college supes

Don't really think any of that would be THAT interesting for a batman show

a short series of how Bruce learned his skills before becoming full blown Bats could be interesting

with their new streaming platform, they can open it up and use everything Batman to attract subscribers but I think they still want to save them all for the movies

I mean that was basically batman begins

I could see an actual year 1 where the whole movie is him getting the handle of things and screwing up as he's learning what he's doing and to balance everything

Bats was much more well traveled than just BB portrayed him to be so expanding on that wouldn't be a bad concept

he is skilled in almost all form of martial arts, where did he get his detective skills, scientific knowledge, expert in interrogation, great in escaping, a great spy, can withstand great physical pain, etc... an episode or two on how he acquired those and then intertwine them to one big story similar to BB with the league and add in Talia earlier as love interest and that's a good HBO series i'd watch

^ could see that.. I guess for DCEU, if they ever do it properly I could see bats pulling a fake it til you make it type thing with the leadership role

For the JL.. Like him realizing they're all young and new at it an him stepping up and taking charge while he still has his own doubts about the whole thing

I find it ironic that DC doesn't want Batman on any TV shows considering the 60s series with Adam West is what people associated Batman with for a long time...at least until they started making Batman films.

Rumor was that DC was telling CW they can't do shows with the big 3 but then Supes showed up in Supergirl. So who knows.
Early on it was just off limits cuz the movies always made money amd they didnt want to hurt the franchise in anyway. This ain't the Adam West era of Batman.

I actually saw it as a good thing. Gotham is pure trash. Arrow is garbage. If a Batman series isn't going to be on HBO helmed by serious quality creators, writers, and showrunner(s), it should never be done.

Like I can get the novelty and appeal of some campy Batman show on CW but in the end it's be a joke.

Outside of JL, WB has been lucky that they've dodged a lot of Batman fails in movies alone (Aronfonsky's reimagining of the Batmechankc ). Probably don't want to double the risk of failure with tv.

Don't mention Batmechanic I really didn't like that idea for a Batman movie. Maybe an animated elseworld joint

They've been trying to live down that era for decades. Gave the bag to Burton and had him remake the image on a global scale along with the comics resurgence that provided great source material.

They can play it up now with nods like Batman: Brave and the Bold and the Batman '66 (or w/e year) comics but they'll never seriously revisit that.

Its still one of the most bizarre interpretations of Batman (any superhero) really that was seriously proposed in a script or script treatment for an actual movie.

Just so weird.

And the thing is if you take Batman away from that you still got a pretty okay superhero or just action flick about a dude thats a great mechanic with his "uncle Al" in a tricked out car that fights crime.

Aronfonsky must be a big fan of Swat Kats and Night Rider.

Those Batman films are campy in their own way though, when you look back at them.

Watching Justice League for the first time. I love the concept of the speed force always have. Im still salty Martian Manhunter isn't apart of this :smh::frown: so far im enjoying this more than I did Batman v. Superman

can you all imagine a smallville like batman show? lol
On one hand terrible, on the other has potential.

You really gotta thread that needle.

Smallville was all about Clark Kent as a teen going through growing pains and becoming the hero Superman. His parents raising him one way and his interactions with a young Luthor.

I mean the premise could've sucked greatly but they added the right amount of mystery, villain of the week, alien sci-fi, and back story world building for it to be great for a good amount of seasons.

You could arguably do a Batman show where Bruce Wayne is a teen, going all around the world learning martial arts, how to be the best detective, and gearing up to be Batman. You have to be way more disciplined.

Can't be like that trash Arrow where its half some of that, his past coming back to haunt him, corporate attacks on his business, etc.

Also can't be like that garbage Gotham. So no villains before they were villains, only a select few that make sense. Hell most of the show shouldn't even be set in Gotham. It should be globetrotting Bruce half becoming Sherlock Holmes other half becoming Bruce Lee. Any crime he fights would be abroad.

checkin in: im so happy batmans contingency plan to snap superman out of it wasn't to say "Martha"

Finished the movie. Some iffy moments still but overall not straight up bad like Batman v. Superman I enjoyed this one the whole way through for the most part was decent.

Not gonna lie I marked out a bit when this happened

"Big round table six chairs" - Batman

"with room for more" - Wonderwoman

"with room for more" - Batman

They really could've brought that back. Still terrible but I would've got a laugh.

Damn, remember when Snyder left and Whedon came on and ppl swore we were getting the best of both world's? Snyder's visuals with Whedon's directing/storytelling?

Now its all ****ting on Whedon and fans thinking Snyder would've been better. To the point Whedon bailed on DC again and is talking about he wished he was directing IW.

The globetrotting would be the James Bond aspect... Overall I agree

And to this day, Smallville is still the best comic/superhero show the CW ( previously the WB) has ever done... It made me care about Clark compare to other iterations...
It's the only version of Superman other than him in the JL I really liked.
