Even if that is true, I predict these can be eventually had for close to retail or under (if your lowball bid gets accepted) on StockX or GOAT. It's a performance basketball shoe, and it doesn't look like hypebeasts really care about performance basketball shoes like that. Plus, Converse is likely going to flood the market with tons of colorways for these (look at Nike and the Book 1s or Adidas and the AE1s as a recent example) which will drive the price of the initial "limited" colorway down.

I'm going to wait. The black pair, gray pair, and orange pair are the ones I'm really interested in anyway.
