Looks like we won't be matching the $16M raised bid by Hansen.

IMO its not a big deal because, thats such a small amount of money. So Stern had to have told them not to sweat it.

No vote this week at the BoG

Written bid will be submitted tomorrow.

To recap, mayor says Sacto's written #NBAKings bid is being finalized by lawyers, will be sent to NBA Wednesday.

...and he seemed to suggest Sacto won't match the higher Hansen offer from last Friday.

NBA confirms no vote this week on #NBAKings

from Seattle
Analysis: delayed vote can't help #nbaseattle. Every day the #nbakings bid gets more consideration, it gets more legitimacy.

Its just amazing how far we've come...

From 1st and goal for the Kings moving to Seattle

to dismissing Sacramento's efforts...

to making it a real strong possibility that the Kings could stay.

I almost purely want the Kings to stay just as a middle finger to all the ignorant idiots out there.

FWIW...... my boy is taking this delay as the NBA looking into expansion

He ain't the only one. The league can't ignore someone willing to pay $550 (well, at least as a valuation) for a franchise that is legitimately worth a little more than half that. Could be a Browns-Ravens situation, with either Seattle getting the Kings, and guaranteeing expansion. Or the Kings staying, and Seattle getting an expansion team. Problem is, expansion won't be discussed until 2016, probably. And it'll take a year or two to get it up and running. So, five years, for either city. That's my guess.

I can't remember where I read the article but the author said Hansen may have out priced himself for expansion if he gets denied. He valued the kings at $550 mil but his bid is actually $357 mil? If he gets denied and is granted expansion he would have to pay the full $550+ million for a brand new ball club.

Who else is saying that up there??

I'm pretty sure my friend's source might be one of the Maloofs... but everytime I press him on it he gets all weird about it.

Waiting till 2016-18 isn't too terrible since neither city will get an arena built until then (that 2015 date Hansen set is bull ****).

Was the Browns/Ravens situation planned to go down like that? IMO if expansion happens it'll be in Seattle, because I don't see the point of uprooting the franchise for just 3-5 years and pausing pro basketball in Sacramento, until the arena is built.

damn didn't even think of that

but hey, I'll be with the Seattle people on this.... money ain't an object to Hansen/Ballmer, if thats a possible avenue for them to get a team once the Kings stay, they'll do what it takes to get an expansion team
