SMH never thought the economy was going to directly effect me as a broke college student but uh... here it is
The current direction of the economy has nothing to do with Circuit City closing down. I use to work at Circuit City myself back in college, right before they stopped having people as commission based, needless to say it was great times back then but you could tell even back then that Best Buy waseating away at CC and that the company was poorly ran by upper management and that was about 7 years ago. All CC did was change there slogan to be......."We're With You"as if somehow that was going tochange things around and get people to come into the doors. The downfall of Circuit City is management and just allowing Best Buy to dominate them like theyhave and will continue to do.
My thoughts exactly. If you have to purchase at a Brick & Mortar store your only choice will be Best Buy and you can pretty much say goodbyeto any deals then.Originally Posted by Craftsy21

I mean - why is this good? Nobody ever forced you to buy anything there.
amen.. people w/ that kind of work ethic don't deserve a job.. stay home if you want to chat up with your buddies.Originally Posted by dapimpjuice4ya
I'm not surprised. I stopped shopping at Circuit City awhile ago. I went to the ones in my local area looking for help to buy a laptop and a nice camera on two separate occasions and got no help. As soon as I walked in the door at Best Buy, I was helped almost immediately. I can just imagine the business they lose out on because of the crappy customer service. The thing about it, two guys in the computer area walked right past us and it was obvious that we needed help; they just didn't bother. I refuse to spend money somewhere where the employees won't even bother to ask if you need help.
The economy has nothing to CC folding. They dug their own grave when they fired the people who knew what they were doing and hired people just towork shifts like Dirty said in another CC thread. If you're really broke as you say you are sell your kicks.Originally Posted by LadiiKix
I work at circuit, or worked. As of Nov. 5th we're closing all 155 locations with NO firedog services, no in-home installation services and anything you buy on or after Nov. 5th will be a final sale. To say the least, it sucks. They haven't decided on severance packages and as far as sales, there will be huge liquidation sales even before black friday. SMH never thought the economy was going to directly effect me as a broke college student but uh... here it is. Expect eventual 50% sales towards the end of ultimate closing.
