Circuit City going under?

Just going in their stores, you can tell that they aren't good. Best Buy and Fry's are waay better stores and that's why its going under.

read the article...they're just gonna transfer the inventory to better selling stores. Until they completely belly up will we see sales...and before that Ibelieve they'd just liquidate to bb or other electronic stores.

I work at circuit city and they told us about this in a meeting this morning. Brand new stuff is going to be sent off to other stores that are staaying open, but I promise yall will be able to get some crazy deals on display tvs etc.

Thats not a good thing...lot of people are going to be out of jobs now. Ironically, whats a sale to them is probably what you could get it for online.

I thought the only thing good about circuit was that is was cheaper online and some items in stores.....other than that....!#$+ is wack.

The closest CC to my house is across the street from a Best Buy....again more foolishness. I hope some super sales come out of this before the go down the pathof K-mart and SERVICE MERCHANDISE lmaooo.

Glad I work for the competitor right now.
It could happen to any company at anytime though. Always keep a backup plan in place working in retail...

CC has been steadily selling their laptops to BigLots! If you guys havent noticed the past 2 weeks biglots has been having ads out for HP andCompaq laptops ranging from 400-600 bucks.

it seems like circuit city always had better deals though. for new dvd releases, they would always be a dollar or two cheaper the first week, yet people wouldbe buying from bestbuy. for televisions, cc.com has much better prices than bb.com.

the problem is their stores are hard to find stuff, and they don't advertise their prices correctly. often i've bought something that said one priceand was actually a few dollars less.

they are very poorly run, but could be salvaged with the right management.

I work at circuit, or worked. As of Nov. 5th we're closing all 155 locations with NO firedog services, no in-home installation services and anything youbuy on or after Nov. 5th will be a final sale. To say the least, it sucks. They haven't decided on severance packages and as far as sales, there will behuge liquidation sales even before black friday. SMH never thought the economy was going to directly effect me as a broke college student but uh... here it is.Expect eventual 50% sales towards the end of ultimate closing.

the one closest to me got the axe.. not even listed on the site anymore..
there were 2 real cute girls that worked there too

them guys never wanted to help a brother buy anything, so I would always buy from someone else. I didn't want to give them my money.

I'm not surprised. I stopped shopping at Circuit City awhile ago. I went to the ones in my local area looking for help to buy a laptop and a nice camera ontwo separate occasions and got no help. As soon as I walked in the door at Best Buy, I was helped almost immediately. I can just imagine the business they loseout on because of the crappy customer service. The thing about it, two guys in the computer area walked right past us and it was obvious that we needed help;they just didn't bother. I refuse to spend money somewhere where the employees won't even bother to ask if you need help.
