Chuck Barkely talking about black people... again...

Black people are holding down other black people.

Not a system of white supremacy, Charles.

Black people. And ignorant ones at that.

Got it.
My sarcasm detector is working, but why is it either or? It's both.
Brah America is the only place in the world thats like that.  You know, the country that enslaved blacks for 300 years and beat them for learning how to read.  The country where blacks have the worst educational system in the world.  The country where something blatantly racist happens in mainstream media every month now.  Its not like its somethign thats been programmed in black society over the past 8 generations.  Its not like black people suddenly started pulling each other down for no reason.  Ask yourself WHY this crab in a bucket mentality exist and where did it originate from.

Its funny how an obvious message is better received by different messengers.

**** would yall like it better if Barkley said "These ****** wont hold me back", "Haters Gone Hate", "Hi Hater" or one of the millions of other Crab in the barrel dedicated songs. We euphemised crab in the barrel mindset with "Hater".

We know what Barkley said is true the collective cognitive dissonance wont let us admit that just like every other community we have self inflicted issues.

We have a "Where you think you going n***a mindset" Its both obvious and subconscious. I've witnessed it against myself trying to go back to school. Hell, the old me probably even participated in it. My boy Doe B got murked because of this mindset. My lil bruh a nerd and tried to get a tech company going you know how many times his own people laughed at him? You think Billy getting laughed at? Hell we just went through 3 years of calling every black successful person in the entertainment industry a baby eating devil worshiper. White folks aint calling Kenny Chesney a damn Illuminati member.

The first step in moving forward is admitting we have a problem. We so quick to "but slavery..." Dawg shut up. We had pride and put a premium on education, 2 parent households, community, family, dressing like businessmen and owning businesses in the 20s to the 70s. They were closer to slavery than our black president ***** are and had a completely different mindset.

Yea the remnants of slavery are still prevalent in us but aint nothing worse than someone who knows the reasons behind the diagnosis and does nothing about it.

It's like knowing black folks are overweight with diabetes because of the unhealthy slave food we were forced to eat and eventually converted to traditional soul food. Ok, now that we know that its unhealthy stop eating it and eat healthier. What many of us metaphorically do is stuff our faces with lard and blame the white man for making us do it. If you know better, do better.

Yeah, but knowing where it originates from, solves absolutely nothing. At some point we have to change, the system that oppresses us sure isn't going to lend a hand.

To think we can erase 300 years of conditioning is easier said than done.  Most black people dont even know their heritage.

And to further what you said, bruh, all our black leaders got ASSASSINATED.  Malcolm.  Martin.  Huey P Newton.  They were even fearing for Obamas life when he got elected.  THATS why that activism wave of the 60s and 70s died down, because people DIED.  The founder of the FBI's main goal was to eliminate MLK.  These are facts.  Its not like white people had no part in us putting each other down, they MANUFACTURED it to be that way.

The funny thing is how people are saying Barkley is right, but would you listen to Barley about anything else? What else is Charles Barkley an expert on? I barely listen to his expertise on basketball, and you want to believe his theory on a race? Am I supposed to listen to Carrot Top's view on white people next?

As if Charles Barkley has some first hand knowledge of his theory.

Yeah, I'm sure Charles Barkley got picked on for how articulate and intelligent he is. If that dude got picked on for talking white, I'd like to see what became of the rest of his classmates. Because thank God for basketball :lol
Do you really need to be an expert on something you have experience with?

All you doing here is trying to discredit him in all other realms to make it as so whether he's right or wrong it doesn't matter.

If we going that route why listen to you or anyone else in here replying?

Honestly I feel like we are changing that mentality.  More awareness nowadays.  I mean like 2 years ago everybody was wearing glasses and button ups.  I think we are headed in the right direction.

Never entertain yourself with the opinion of another man unless it affects you personally, financially or your common interest.Especially entertainers and in this case black entertainers who know both sides of the coin but do to their success, fame or fortune their opens become so narrow minded because their usually the first in their family,in their generation to get it that they look at it from a point of view of 'I got it,you can too as long as your not stepping on my toes".

Charles is a walking stereotype and he gets paid to be just that now if he hadn't made it to the NBA I'm sure Charles would have a different point of view.

If you don't agree that black people criticize other black people for being articulate, knowledgeable, and having diverse taste in music, literature, clothing, media etc..

Then you either,

A. aren't black

or B. aren't articulate, knowledgeable, or have diverse taste

yes im tired of black culture being trashed on predominantly white media outlets because white people don't understand what its like to be hated by everyone including your own people. They will watch this and think more negatively about blacks, not have any empathy for them. Still not mad at Chuck.

You guys aren't making any sense and completely missing the bigger picture. It's almost difficult to explain to ya'll. We know it exists (certainly not prevalent), we admit it's an issue we have to deal with from the inside out, Chuck spoke about it, Bill, yourself, the songs you mentioned, endless other instances. Obviously we have a problem, and we know it, THAT WAS THE ADMITTANCE! IT'S BEEN ADMITTED! OVER AND OVER. Now what's the solution? how does further seperating and demeaning each other to an audience that's largely only being fed negative images help?

So tomorrow this hive mind you all want us to share stops the hating, everything is incredible for us right?

no u need to learn to not be so sensative bruh because if you were intelligent you would understand Exactly what hes saying
This...and if Barkley said it another way then there would be beef with that way also...reading some of these comments I'd hate to have a conversation face to face...we can't all get to deep...we gotta communicate on all levels..

I don't think it's true that everyone has admitted we have a problem. You using the "we" fast and loose here. Plenty won't address there's a problem or outright deny it before talk of a solution which I've brought up before that seems to be the next topic.

So I can see how you see it as separating and demeaning but acknowledging there's a problem still isn't widespread. If it was it couldn't keep being brought up in a way that implies we all don't recognize it.

I don't really care about the other audience and image. After we get the solutions we can work on public image or race relations with former oppressors.

You'd have to purposely choose not to see that we have sect that are still held back and have a limited view, and even more blind to ignore the years of systematic oppression and current conditions that led to it ."****** just being ****** "(which is what most of these dudes statements could be broken down to) is a silly argument. Show me a video/article of a black celebrity that's saying that problem doesn't exist, in context. Where is this plenty?

Criticize or joke?

Because I don't see anyone criticizing Cornel West for being too articulate.

Black people will tease and joke you for being short, ugly, fat, skinny, tall, what you wear...

Joking or teasing one another isn't a trait that's synonymous to black people.

If you let that hold you back, then that's on you. People are projecting their own hang ups and prejudices in to a lot things said.

Someone talking about how black people treat other intelligent black people, who has never been called intelligent or articulate in his life? What experience has he had with it?

And where are all these black people being held back at?

Yeah, let me listen to his opinion. :rolleyes

It's black peoples fault it's harder to get a job as a black college grad than a white person with just a high school diploma? And black people are the ones not interviewing people based on their name being ethnic?

For some this might be true though...somebody might walk out the house with their own family goin in on them..jus to hit school and hear the beef from their peers..jus to go to work to put up with the nonsense...jus to get bak home to have it start again...some people gotta make they way from deep just get that breath of air way later down the road...not all people go through it but I can say some do...jus my opinion

BlackIntellect really shot himself in the foot by making that his username.

Can't throw a rock without hitting a post where someone is commenting on it.

Having said that: Magic1978 needs to learn the definition of "oxymoron."  Dude just unintentionally made a really racist comment.
