They are fantastic cars though. Sure, they're not the coolest but they're well built, amazingly comfortable and more practical than anything else I've seen.

Sitting in my 2001 V70 just now. I'd like a XC90 but they're still quite expensive - and there's nothing wrong with this. Hopefully should do me a couple more years.

My uncle has a 740 which is touching 20 years and is still going strong. Average life of a Volvo is 18 years according to one thing I read.

I have been trying to decide between a pre-owned 05-06 Volvo s60 and a pre-owned 05-06 Honda Accord. I need a car that is going to last for the next 10 years.

Any advice?

After Volvo was sold to ford the cars were garbage. A lot of reliability issues. Pre 1999 Volvos were tanks though. This guy who I helped sell his 94 850 had 275k on the dash

Yeah, they had some troubles for a few years - definitely not built like they were in the 90s. They seem to have turned that around though.
