Just copped these amazing books in the last couple weeks. I've been studying Black history and historical black thought for a few years now. I feel like we can't make sense of our condition if we don't study it and find solutions that help us make forward progress. We need to do more building and planning among ourselves.

Bro, I've been wanting to crack it open but I haven't had the patience to do it at the moment. Black feminism/womanism is making a little bit of waves, so I figured it was important to study the subject.D nice: prepare yourself for that black feminist thought book. Patricia Hill Collins is OUT there with some of her concepts imo lol Should be a good read though nonetheless
Those "Making the Second Ghetto" and "Black Film/White Money" books look good, going to have to check those out.
I bought the second edition which is Walker's updated version of the first one and this thing is nearly a thousand pages. But it's been a great read so far. It just takes time to digest the information properly.When we Ruled by Robin Walker is a dense read but its chalked full of info. Has some really good stuff on the history of Africa as it relates to religion, architecture, etc.
