Except it’s not. The school to prison pipeline refers to students of marginalized groups being given harsher punishments for regular kid **** compared to others. It does not refer to major crimes committed by “brothas” which is what I assume you’re talking about. And since you mentioned parking tickets, have you not seen stories of blacks people getting pulled over for nonsense and being assaulted and murdered by cops? In America, that happens way too often.

Pointing out systemic racism does not negate the fact that far too many folks invest in conscientious stupidity and willful ignorance.
Two things can be true at the same time.
I might not be able to tear systemic racism down alone, but I can make good decisions in my own life and link with like-minded individuals who do the same.
The more of us that make good decisions = the more of us that can fight systemic racism.

Speaking of young brothas voluntarily signing up for jail these days……we got two life sentences and one 40 year sentence with this case.

EVERY traffic stop is situational of course…..but the “murdered by cops……happens way too often” is a stretch champ.

The numbers speak for themselves in comparison to other races. That’s not even taking into account what actions either party were doing before the black person got killed. Some murdered were justified IF the person had or was using a weapon against a cop. Some were not. Black people are simply NOT getting killed by the police like some would like to have folks believe. Best practice for ANYONE not a white male to move around as if the system will never relinquish power to your group. It's 2025, you gotta make it happen yourself because unless you are a certain group nobody is trying to hear you whine about the system holding you back.

Hell nall. They deserved it. Those sentences probably will get reversed as they get older. They all may end up doing 20-30+ years. They’ll eventually probably get released on appeal or good behavior.
The “life sentence” is just to scare them straight and make them think long and hard about their crimes.
My thing is. If you’re going to be in the “streets” at least try and get some money. I respect it more if you sell drugs or scam, boost, something.
If you’re doing street stuff just to kill and not get money, you’re a dummy who deserves prison time or to get wacked by the same people you’re trying to terrorize.
Being broke, uneducated and killing just to kill is the dumbest mindset that a lot of these street dudes exhibit

so i can understand the rationale that a single earner making a multiple of a dual income household is 'better' (sure there are many other caveats & considerations), this is the argument some women make which basically distills men to their ability to earn. the other common angle is it better to be free of the abusive, degenerate, or otherwise man of lack...there are other cases made but it basically comes back to some variation of those, nevermind that most folk are average folk that earn similarly are (mostly) sane

didn't watch the vid but considering that black folk are <13% of the US population, the context of those numbers is missing...while millions of people could hardly be called small, cali has something like 40 million folks, florida is in the low/mid 20s...the fact that most black folk are in the south might be an aside in certain contexts so it may be a slightly disingenuous title but not necessarily untrue one

If folks invested as much effort into solutions as they put into crying, whining, and complaining, it wouldn't matter how much racists invest in institutional racism - because we would have our own, just like we did before desegregation, when Black folks were the most married, our families were the strongest, and we had no choice.

Sometimes I sit back and feel like I don't think it's possible to eradicate generational poverty within the AA community.
Not saying it's not a worthwhile effort, but culturally(I might be coming from a place of ignorance), perseverance and resilience is deeply ingrained within it.

People are talking about lived experiences steeped in cultural mores and you are talking about propaganda. Ask boomers which parents spent time with their kids supervising their homework.
The concept of the involved father is a recent phenomenon, driven by the increase in participation of wives/mothers in the workforce. I got boomer/gen x coworkers who love to remind me how back in their day, fathers used to be married to their job.
You do realize that the structure of the two parent household hasn’t always been the standard way of organizing the black family throughout history, don’t you? Many Africans arriving in the US came from polygamist, patriarchal, and matriarchal family structures. But I digress.
What’s being said is that the two-parent household is not a silver bullet for success. No amount of religious sermons is going to change the fact that marriage is only one of many other factors that matter in order to reach and maintain economic stability.
He thinks marriage is the only metric that matters to achieve prosperity.
