Black Culture Discussion Thread

I think folks still confusing Glo with Sexy Redd. Glo is aight. Its Sexy Redd we don’t like.

Yea I don't think anyone is confusing the two.

I think the point was how wild it is that it's practically normal to have such vulgarity at a Political Rally.

Yes, the man running vs. Kamala is one of the most vile public figures in recent history.

"When they go low, we go high"

I'm sure today's Michelle disagrees with Michelle from 8 years ago; if Glo is what is takes to fire up voters, Glo is what they're going to get.

Let's complain about optics when we get out of these "interesting" times.

You know it’s ridiculous when you’ve got some broke or even uneducated Black folks rooting for Trump.

My broke 24 year old cousin who doesn’t even know how to properly do laundry, has a recent car repossession… jobless and was held back in grade school… rooting for dude.

This kid didn’t even know what a 401k was and I had to explain it to him, smh
Each one teach one.

I remember back in the day when I used to work retail, I had a black coworker who was taking his paychecks to a check cashing place. Put him on game and told him to open a no fee checking account at a bank instead.

Definitely learned "Lift every voice and sing" in one of my elementary schools at some point. Don't even remember when/how, but years ago I remember someone randomly broke out in song and I knew the words and was like wtf?

Like one of them spy movies where they got amnesia but they beating everyone *** and don't know how.

And don’t go to bed without drying off your hair if wet. You gone get sick.

Cut off the TV, lights and no taking a shower when it’s thundering and lightning:lol

Add a stupid one that our parents used to tell us.

"Don't hook that game up on my tv and mess it up.

Never heard of a gaming system messing up any tv but our folks SWORE up and down it was going to mess them up.

The Republicans whole thing is to get the, put it frankly, appeal to the dumb. The type of person that doesn’t even know how to use Google. The ads they running in Texas are straight comedy. “Colin Allred wants public schools to transition children..”

Ain’t no “ya’ll” I see through all these dudes and women. They’re all making money off miserable subscribers who fall for anything.

How are you in your late 20s, 30s or 40s needing relationship advice? :lol :lol :rollin

The whole podcast landscape is one big racket. And it’s being used by con artist to con dummies :lol :lol :lol :rollin :rollin

This hopeless romantic “cry to social media” era is so damn annoying dawg

So is it the white woman that invalidates what he said? Meaning if he was with a black women, would what he said been true? I mean, it was cool when Kevin Samuels was saying that.

it’s disingenuous to not, at least superficially, concede that height & income are metrics that a not insignificant amount of women, if not close to parity, do disqualify men by…then add the context that height & income aren’t exclusive to whatever it means to be a ‘top tier’ man…it’s fair to call him out for his single mom slander when if it is as it appears that he himself is with one, that she is white is irrelevant tho

i always think it is interesting when people have this point of view about things that are in the realm of nuance…relationships can be complicated/nuanced, taking issue with who folk take their advice from is maybe valid…but the idea that folk cross some arbitrary line to where there would no longer need or seek it out is high key nonsense.

Discernment is REAL. If you’re at certain ages and still getting swindled by certain people, that’s on you:lol :lol :lol

… if you don’t have people/relationships figured out by a certain age (not even just romantic relationships) business relationships, work relationships, etc.

STOP PUTTING YOUR BUSINESS ON FRONT STREET, is how I grew up. Posting all on social media, people are laughing at you, not being empathetic.

I once told a woman to keep people out of our business, they’re laughing at you, not with you.

Boy that’s straight black mother’s mouth! BUT…one thing I learned as I got older is that not even our, strong, intelligent, wonderful black mothers aren’t immune to self doubt.
