Black Culture Discussion Thread

A few minutes in she talks about the fight against Black Maternal Mortality. Good stuff.

14:40 in they start talking about family. Kamala talks about her Uncle Sherman who was one of the first black graduates of the Berkeley School of Law, and who sat her and her sisters down as little girls and taught them chess because you need to understand that's how the world works - you need to be able to see the whole board - there are different players with different moves. Also talks about her auntie Kris who went to Howard and pledged AKA in the 1950's.

20 minutes in, and it's good. Beyond proud to support her. Talking about Earth Wind and Fire, Nina Simone, and so on.

"I fault the so called “mother” for even thinking it’s okay to talk to and blatantly disrespect a man like that"

Did I misread that? (seriously)

This is what happens when young men grow up without a father/father figure in the household. They start thinking like the opposite sex and worse yet speaking out as such, and just picking and choosing bits and pieces.

The other half of that statement which you failed to quote was “particularly face to face given the circumstance.” Regardless of gender it’s idiotic to confront someone at their house on their grounds. Add onto that the person that feels that they were already violated and wants to protect a family member, that’s a bad outcome waiting to happen for the person confronting.

Men (rather real men know) that there’s always a chance of violence when confronting another man. With that being said someone should have told that woman that’s it’s a bad idea to confront that man or any man for that matter unless you are ready to take it there. Not saying that man or any man should become violent with any woman but again it COULD happen.

A woman should learn how to be a lady and conduct herself accordingly at all times. That woman certainly has a lot to learn as it pertains to that. She should have just found out all the information from her son, be a mother by telling her son how wrong he was and just call it a day.

How do 2 things those connect? Mfers just be hating. We got issues.

My response would be just just did the "Call Her Daddy" podcast which is all about that type of stuff.

But in terms of the tweet, I think they are trying to say there should be some type of standard of a platform the Next PResident should allow herself to be on.

I say, this is America. The Land of Degeneracy. Meet folks where they are.

Sounds good bruh. So since we're doing the whole "know your place or there's violence" thing, I hope you as a black man know that we shouldn't directly confront white folks. Don't look them directly in the eye, especially if you're in some Southern state. Make sure you take the bass out of your voice. You wouldn't want violence.

See how ******* dumb that sounds? Miss me with the 1950's America Spiel. Anybody talking to anybody can lead to violence. There was an attempt to make it seem like because someone is a woman they should always be respectful of men or something. This aint the 1950s and women are like, you know, real actual human beings? If you're one of those people like "ehhhh I dunno about a woman running the country" we can just stop replying to each other's posts. If you're among this idiotic group of guys talking about repealing women's right to vote, we can just stop discussing things with one another.

Naw bruh Im not even going to let you saver her like that. Don't be cutting the stupid ***** no pass! Then they think they got a point. First of all, who the **** is she to say who should and who shouln't? These be the mfer that be on some "I AiN'T VoTinG fOr EiThEr" BS. That heffer was trying to be funny and the closest she could get to humor was hatred.

The former president (who’s also running in this election) is sitting down with Adin Ross, Joe Humping Stools Rogan, & the Nelk Boys

I mean, people want idiocracy….and then don’t. I do agree that Shay sharpe in a NORMAL time would be unserious.

But you cannot look at the landscape today, and this be your line of thinking :lol. Cmon man

Anybody talking to anybody can lead to violence.

eh…being confrontational yes, but just talking 🤷🏿‍♂️ but i get your point…thing is too many women act/operate as if this isn’t the reality when dealing w/men (i think such interactions are different woman to woman) thus act irresponsibly, relying on the presumption that man will have restraint. men in general do tend to at least understand that violence is a possibility of that consequence & more or less accept that risk of standing on whatever business; respect is more earned than given but disrespect can be an offense that too many will crash out over

NOTHING that you stated is what I said…..at all. Get out of your feelings……quick, fast and in a hurry.

Just for the record, I think both of them should be hitting up as many outlets as possible. I really hope she does Rogan but it's not looking like that's going to happen. But when they are on these platforms, I don't want them to be in robotic politician mode. I would like to see them as an individual. We can watch actual news outlets for the Sanitized talk.

When they are on these platforms, that’s exactly what happens.

These independent platforms are far from independent as well. Especially the ones tied to the “Roganverse”. Hence your softball “interviews/slobber fest” from the likes of:

Joe Rogan
Andrew Shultz
Theo Von
Lex Friendman
Nelk Boyz
Adin Ross

****, this is the guy who’s famous for going on (and legitimating) Alex Jones.

Kamala has been on the breakfast club, did one with Uncle Luke back in 2019 (somehow, this had been memory holed :lol)

Roland Martin, All the smoke, and a bunch of other ones. This really isn’t THAT new….regarding her. And the questions and formats are vastly different from what Trump has been on.

I say that to say that the “independent media” is even softer and more sanitized than interviews on traditional media. Upside down world.

They just get to cuss and be casual :lol. That’s it.

Lastly, Joe Rogan is not an honest actor at all. He’s a propagandist for the same people that work for Trump. JD Vance will be on his show next.

I have ZERO faith that Joe Rogan would interview Kamala in good faith, or even with the same soft tone that he did in the Trump interview. He’s shown his hand/*** waaaay to many times.

This.

Like traditional media, "independent" media knows their audience, they know most are there to confirm their biases, and they're not trying to lose them.

24 minutes in and she talks about black men and colon cancer and highlights the need for increased screenings.

I'm not going to sit through the interview but I heard she addressed her background controversy. Did she clear up anything about her family history?

I am voting for Kamala either way but I know this has been an ongoing convo.

It's an hour long interview so I can try to remember, but what controversy? If you're talking about the whole "She aint black" stuff, that didn't come up. She talked about the usual stuff about family background and the family you have by blood and family by love and basically who you end up caring about as you get older and who cares about you.

… wait until 2040s when we’ll start having tik tok presidents. People want to care about “debauchery” when it’s convenient. Americans are so hypocritical. Social media is full of sexual imagery and innuendos. People posting half naked pics, recording themselves having sex, etc. they think 2025 is bad, they’re DEFINITELY not ready for when today’s 20 and 30 year olds reach their 40s and 50s and are in positions of power.

Better scrub their social media’s now :lol

This is just the tip of the iceberg. People want to have morals when it’s convenient nowadays
