If Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma/Oklahoma State, finish in a three-way tie for the South title with one loss apiece, a complex procedure would ensue. And thetiebreaker ultimately would be the highest-ranked team in the BCS standings after the regular season.

In the highly unlikely scenario that two teams were tied in the BCS standings, two more tiebreakers could be used.

A look at the Big 12's tiebreaker procedure:

1. The records of the three teams will be compared against each other (head-to-head competition between the three teams).

2. The records of the three teams will be compared within their division.

3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5 and 6)

4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;

5.The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be therepresentative.

6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative

7. The representative will be chosen by draw.

That is some craziness right there, but from the looks of it, I think Texas would go if they TTU, OU/OSU all have 1 loss. Or it may depend on who TTU loses to.

Wait, why was Florida shafted? Texas lost to Texas Tech, Florida lost to Ole Miss. What's the argument here? If Florida had begun the season playing theway they are playing now then they would undoubtedly be #1 right now, but they didn't, they lost to a scrubby Ole Miss team and they do not deserve to jumpTexas who beat three Top-10 teams in a row and lost to an undefeated Texas Tech team.

Penn St. may very well be legit, it's just that I haven't seen it and the perception of most of the country outside of Big 10 area mainly as a resultof Ohio St. the last 2 years, is that they DON'T want to see another Big 10 team in the title game period, especially against and SEC team. I mean thosemean defensive teams that were tops in the country that OSU had the past couple years didn't even belong on the same field.

I think those are right. Texas Tech does deserve to jump PSU IMO, and that's not necessarily a knock on PSU.
