Tonight. Pickup at 24 Hour. Guy brought his 16 year old son to play. Kid is ok, not great, typical mediocre high school step-back everything and makes 30%. He’s covering and being covered by a 20 year old who is WORKING this kid on both ends. Kid’s dad pops off and calls the 20 year old trash and tells his son to get on his ***.

20 year old scores on a deep three, turns and tells kid “you’re dad better shut it or I’m going to keep killing you”. Kid FIRES the ball at the 20 year old and hits him in the head (kid is 6-3 and around 180). 20 year old goes after him but stops because of assaulting a minor. Kid continues to call him names of female body parts and dogs and all the adult could do was take it and dad just stood by laughing.

Question - what should or could 20 year old do except leave?

Stay quiet, proceed to continue giving em buckets, hit game point, and loudly demand that "You and your BA daddy **** my court."

Amazon selling that ball 2 for $31.79 or 22.25 for one. 4.5 star avg so far. There is one review showing the ball leaving orange spots on asphalt after 2-3 uses (so said reviewer claims). NGL I'm tempted to try one as my current Spalding indoor/outdoor is losing its grip.

Yeah, just let your game run their *** off the court and keep it moving. Dad was probably embarrassed his son was getting cooked and his son was probably feeling like he was letting his dad down.

It legit makes me sad though because I could have never imagined my basketball career ending from some catastrophe like this.

But I know how reckless folks are and I'm not about to hoop with a damn mask on either.

Plus it has been so long that I am shook about tearing something.

I've been training and I am in basketball shape but Nah man. Folks are dirty and can't be trusted.

I been playing with vaccinated folks 2-3 times a week since around March. A bunch of us were finally comfortable enough to jump into a spring league soon after. Came in second there, but we actually just won just won the chip earlier this week in our summer league.

Hasn’t felt like there’s even a virus anymore by me but my body definitely feels like I’ve lost a step just from old age. I can average low/mid 20’s with barely any drives just because I’m Filipino and move around screens and pop 3’s all day.

Probably would’ve average 30’s in my knees were a decade younger but a torn meniscus and calcium between the knees are painful and a mofo right now

Yea, folks are grown though, have familities, kids, etc.

When I want to hoop I usually go with one or two of my dudes to random courts.

So I will never JUST be at a court with folks I KNOW are vaccinated.

I feel that. I have to purposely not bring/wear my hooping shoes to the gym some days to put off that temptation before or after workouts.
