Nice! i like how tall they are. I always wanted a wall full of those. BTW i recommend second hand stores and garage sales for finding interesting old books on the cheap. i have a few really weird titles, and i feel like it helps to have something different/unexpected on the shelves.

Thanks man, was on the hunt for one taller than I am and I'm 6'3 so glad I found them for a decent price.

Also, not really a fan of having books just for the sake of having them. I'll fill it up as time goes and I find more books I want to read. Want to throw some nice bookends and figurines in there too. Looking for a cattle skull at the moment.

Anyone have any recommendations on reclining sofas? I know they really don't look good, but for a practicality standpoint, they make the most sense for me to buy (opposed to getting regular sofa + ottoman).

I love mine.

I bought it from Costco, I forget the brand but my mom recognized it as reputable enough. I think it looks great, it just looks like a regular sofa, but both sides recline independently. For the price it's lasted me about 5 years and moving to a new apartment every single year.. and one time the movers put it up on it's end and had to drag it :lol I was cringing the whole time.

The downside is it's heavy as hell and more cumbersome than a traditional sofa. Which makes sense because of all the reclining gear it needs. So if you're staying in one place for awhile, it makes sense, but if you're one to move around a lot.. it can be a pain.

I was in the same boat, where I figured, why not a reclining sofa instead of needing an ottoman or using an uncomfortable coffee table to put my feet up. And I love being able to sit back and recline.

Shot of my small HT set up. Just got my reciever in on Wednesday. Going to go ahead and add a sub too, thought I could get by without but the lows on these speakers aren't that impressive.

Nice pad kal-el-8 kal-el-8

We need to add something to this thread, I'm thinking bachelor pad essentials. More specifically when we have "company".

Some things I know:
Fly coasters, something original. My ex brought me some coasters hand made from Ghana. They're a great conversation piece, and theyre also very unique.

Nice wine glasses/cocktail glasses

Alcohol. Women love wine, so I keep that stocked. But I've has women come over and want to take shots, or something more aggressive (Gin, Whiskey, etc.)

Good soap. I've learned this the hard way. I had a young lady complain about her hands being dry after leaving my restroom. I knew it was my cheap hand soap. I then proceeded to tell her I have my own moisturizer for her hands....I didnt. But I thought it.

Nice linen. My Mom has always stressed the importance of investing in nice linen. When the ladies enjoy your bed, obviously, they have no problem staying there. Change to the crappy linen if you don't want them to stay.

Some pointers I have, just off the top of my head. What about you all?

Candles are a must imo

This. Wine, good craft beer (nothing too heavy) and things for shots like Hennessy and Patron. Patron shots get them sooooo loose man. Have your own **** you drink too, they like seeing **** they've never heard of. Have some nice bath soap and rags/towels as well. Lotion too.

Will be moving into a new place next month. The way the apartment is laid out, a fireplace is on the only wall I can put a tv on. I have no issues mounting a tv over it, but not sure how I would store media devices (ps3, cable box, etc). There is a "counter" on the top of the fireplace, but I don't remember it having that much depth compared to some of my devices. Would anyone recommend a stand in front of the fireplace (I think it'll look weird) or shelving over it?

I dont know why I didn't take a pic directly in front, but you can see where the fireplace is:

The alternative would be to have it on that kitchen counter area, but I want to put stools there and keep the top clear

**The connection for internet and cable only comes in where the kitchen counter and fireplace wall meet.

Gotta have something for the 420 crowd as well...you'd be surprised...

hang a floating shelf or 2 near where the TV will be hanging and put those devices on there

I'll have to wait until I move in, but I think my TV will take up most of that wall. Maybe taking it higher will provide enough space underneath. If all else fails, I'll likely extend the top of the fireplace with a board.

Still have yet to find a decent credenza to keep my booze in. All of my good stuff is still at my parents house because I don't have anywhere to keep it.

Curious to see what people have for gardening?  Grew some spices and herbs.

My humble home.

I need some art.

Comments? Suggestions?
