you DO think youre better than people b
you just said the difference between you and your wife is that you made better decisions than she did.
im somewhat putting words in your mouth, but one can only logically assume from your statements that making better decisions which result with you being better off in society would make you a better person....(in your mind)
the ONLY difference between the 1% and the 99% is good and bad decisions. (in your mind)
the 1% makes good decisions, the 99% make bad decisions....(in your mind)
but you're not going to go all out and say the people who made "better" decisions and live a "better" life because of it are actually better people?
just that you made better decisions and are better off in your better life?
yo, how good of a decision was it for all these banks to buy these toxic mortgage-backed loans?
oh.
they make great decisions.
So you don't know what they are fighting for, but you have an issue?Originally Posted by ksteezy
Hank you really believe all those people down on wall street even know what they are fighting for?...you really believe a big percent of them is not just looking for a handout to make up for the wrong choices they made??...these are the only people I have an issue with, maybe I should have made that clear.

its almost likeyoure going back and forth, you say you recognize there is a problem but then you say this basically what you have said already is that ppl (you, I, anyone, in general) you make your choices and its all on you.
so im confused on your stance do you believe we have a problem or not? deal the cards that are dealt???
dont point fingers at CEOs who would all do the same if we were given the opportunity? man dont generalize man, just like you cant generalize all the protesters, im sure there are some stupid ppl who made bad choices out there or have no work ethnic an just want a hand out but c'mon son.......is that really you behind the PC?

this is the definition of arrogance.
you're also mad and whining, RIGHT NOW....
the trust in the system was that if i do a, b and c, like society asks, that i'll be able to live a comfortable life...
i was told throughout life that college graduates make an average of 40k a year..the most ive ever made in one year since graduating was 24k...
i dont know anyone making anything near that.....the highest paid friends of mine just live in larger cities that are more expensive...
one dude used to make something around that, but he comes from an affluent family with opportunities not afforded to everyone regularly....and he got laid off...LMAO you think jc penny's board of directors took a 1% pay cut or they just laid him and thousands of other "paycheck-to-paycheck" employees off? oh.
on one hand you call people sheep, but then say you play the cards dealt to you, knowing the deck is stacked against you
if you wanted to make an NT-esque LULzy comment or quirk, just say that, but you're seriously like AGAINST the protesting of something you admit is wrong....
its crazy.
ive not once heard anyone related to these protests say "well, i want all my debt forgiven and i want a handout"
i just hear them saying its a travesty that this sliver of society holds more wealth than the entire population of the rest of us.....and they're not even showing remorse, in fact, its getting WORSE....
thats what this is about man
not about "oh, i wanna get rich by protesting wall street"
like, where did you even get that from?
he has already state if we were in the same position all of us here would do the same.Originally Posted by kc24688

I get what you're saying in the sense that people spend all their free time watching Jersey Shore instead of constantly learning to compete at the highest levels. I just sold my PS3 because I get where you're coming from. I think you just get lazy with your arguments at times and it makes you look bad. What I mean by it not being fair is that these people get away with crimes and we don't. That is not fair. They knowingly commit crimes waiting for the day that they have to pay a 1 million dollar fine after making $30 million in profit. So just because they made it to the top 1% they should be allowed to commit crimes and multiply themselves higher into that 1%? The government should be busting their cahones to get that money back so the rest of us can pay $29 million less in taxes, for example.

Nah homie, YOU called me a sheep, not too much of a fan of the term, yet you just admitted to being a sheep yourself and blindly following a promise of one day after graduation it being worth it....job markets change, demands for certain carreers do as well, at one point you couldn't find a job in my field, now it's an abundance, that will soon change again....when that does and new grads get left out the loop, it will be to point fingers again.
Son there are millions of people that have made even better choices than me, do I consider them to think that they are better than me?...
um from your previous posts, i would honestly say, yes, you do think they're better than you are...i mean, look, they have a better life because they made better decisions...why wont you make that next step and say they're just better?
I ask you again, what are YOU doing to change %@*@?....besides trying to alter my personal view on the issue?... -do you have a job? -can you walk into a hospital and not be turned away? -are you starving, because you can't afford food? Sir you are benefiting from the flawed system as we speak, what are you complaining about??....
i tell you, again, i dont have to do *%$# to find your attitude and demeanor towards people that ARE taking action as dispicable...which is the only thing ive said about my personal views in the entire thread.
im not even trynna change your views, cause honestly, i dont think they're going to change. i dont change peoples views on NT, i just make NT aware to those ******ed views. im just offering you perspective, something that is severely lacking in our society and on this messageboard
yes, i have a job, i get paid 2 thousand dollars more than the federal poverty line to work in a school, a job i took because i had a genuine intrest in helping kids who the system is letting turn into felons and babys moms who collect welfare checks...
slander that.
can i walk into a hospital and not be turned away? well, yeah, now that i have school district insurance.....for the first time since graduating college....in 07.....because i couldnt afford it until i started working for the state....ive had sicknesses/problems and i couldnt go to the hospital for it. my first year in schools i was sick for almost 2 weeks with streap/flu symptoms...couldnt afford to go to the hospital.....
slander that
am i starving because i cant afford food? thank god i have a girlfriend so i have shared expenses. i also don't eat lunch regularly...because i dont want to waste the gas to drive and get it, i dont starve during the day, and its expensive to go out to get lunch. im not starving but im also not dining on 300 dollar company-charged bank accounts..if i could afford to eat out more, i probably would, but *%$# is expensive. .not sure what this question was for, but
slander that
so what that im benefitting from the flawed system? benefiting how?
if being healed when you are hurt or sick....or not starving....or having a very very low paying job is "benefiting from the flawed system" i guess
i happen to think being healed when you are hurt or sick...not starving...and having the opportunity to work are human rights given to us at birth,...but !%%%, what do i know, i made a bad decision to help inner-city kids and look at me suffering from my bad choice now.....and crying about it.

People are genuinely mad because "they took out all these loans because that's what 'THEY' told me to do and now I'm broke?" And then disguising that as Wall Street running up pricing on college tuition? I have seriously over-estimated the heartbeat of America. We are in worse shape than I ever imagined.
