Any photographers in here? My wife has mentioned wanting an iPad mini for editing during traveling. She’s a hobbyist and wants a mini.

Debating between a 6th and 7th gen iPad mini (256GB) with an Apple Pencil. Is the 7th gen and Pencil Pro really worth the $150 additional cost for a hobbyist?

If it's light editing, I think it would be powerful enough to handle. (especially with the M processors) But if she doing heavy editing (meaning, this is her post edit workhorse) I'd go with the Pro.

People use iPads instead of computers to edit photos?
With the power of the pro models and the M-Chip, yeah it's pretty crazy. Especially those who edit while on assignment or on the road.

Lightroom and VSCO are still being utilized by many. And of course, the MBPs.

Thanks. Definitely more of a light editing use case. She doesn’t shoot all the time. Mainly on hikes and vacations. Think I’ll go with the 7th gen mini, 128GB + Pencil Pro. I don’t think she needs all the storage in the world since she’ll only be editing choice photos.

You can attach an external hdd via usb-c and the iPad would recognize the drive. It’s crazy how convenient some processes are now.
