and we're done

I'm pretty sure we didn't have the same amount of cap space if we did not sign Chauncey. 10 mil available instead of 14 or something strange.

What do you mean I'm kidding proph.
We still could have signed Tyson if we never picked up Chauncy's player option and kept our amnesty.
Did I not make that clear? Was that not the better way to go about it?

no, stop trolling :lol

Dude is the ultimate troll, disguising himself as a Knicks fan. We wont talk about the whole please let Lin go to a different team so I dont have to follow this franchise comment again.

But as for Billups, we had to decide whether to pick up the option a week after the finals concluded that season. Obviously we are gonna pick that up. We had no other PG at the time and a lockout was looming, for them to not pick up that option would have been absolutely ******ed. Chandler didnt even come into the picture till December because of the lockout. No way in hell they could have played that any better than they did considering the circumstances.

no, stop trolling :lol
We could have signed Tyson flat out if we never picked up Chauncey's player option. Still had our Amnesty.

Still having our Amnesty Clause would be huge right now.

That's what I'm saying, how is that trolling? :lol

Correct me if I'm wrong proph, I'd want to know.

#Knicks were down 12-2 and 14-4 early on, but Mike Woodson didn't use a timeout. Instead, he waited. Why? #fb
"I almost took a timeout," Woodson admitted, "but I backed off to see if we would settle in."

What he saw was a veteran team stay the course. Jason Kidd, Carmelo Anthony and others kept repeating a mantra: "Stick to the plan! Stick to the plan!"

Woodson allowed the group to adjust and find it's groove.

"He understands we're a different team," Tyson Chandler said. "We've got vets out on the floor and we're not going to get rattled."

Woodson did make a lineup change and inserted JR Smith for Ronnie Brewer. The Knicks turned the 14-4 deficit into a 25-21 lead by the end of the first quarter.

what dude above said

“What you all are saying is not what we’re going by,’’ Shumpert told The Post before last night’s 110-88 victory over the 76ers that improved the Knicks to 3-0. “January, February is what we’re aiming for. I’m just trying to get healthy. When I get healthy, I’ll return to the court. I’m not going to come back and not be able to do the things I did last year and a little more. I want to come back and add something.’’

“It’s going to be a sight to see when we’re back at full strength,’’ Shumpert said. “It’s going to be nice when we’re all together. We’re deep in every position. I’m happy and excited.’’

“It hurts a little bit to be watching these guys,’’ Shumpert said. “I got myself and Amar’e, We’re all getting ready. It could be as easy as December, but I’m not aiming at December. When I feel my knee’s right, that’s when I’m going to come back. January, February, that’s the target. If you can talk to my knee, I’d love you to write what it says.’’

Shumpert, who tore his ACL and meniscus in Game 1 vs. Miami in April, worked on the side throughout preseason, doing exercises and shooting drills with new shooting coach Dave Hopla.

“It’s a power thing now,’’ said Shumpert, who played at Georgia Tech. “Getting my power back and my explosion. I can’t do a lot of things. I’m more restricted as far as cutting and doing all the things I’d normally do.”

Hopla is taking the chance to work with Shumpert’s technique on his jump shot. The new coach’s theory is Shumpert’s liftoff is too high and it hurts his accuracy.

Probably good news. Dont rush him

Btw I forgot about Hopla. Our free throws have already been better

CoupeIt88 is dead *** wrong but I don't feel like correcting him because this is yet another case of dude talking out of his bunghole about NBA related topics.

Buddy stays slangin' misinformed opinions about **** like he knows something. Read some articles or somethin', dog...get acquainted with Google every once in awhile.

Can we stop the in fighting lol. We have the best knicks record in 12 years.
No one's fighting, just debating. The lockout messed the things up for sure - but I don't think we should have picked up a hurt 35 year old Chauncey Billups multi-million dollar option going into free-agency. That's all I'm saying.

But yes, like every positive I say in this thread that goes unnoticed. I'm loving this team defense right now. Raymond Felton and J-Kidd are a breath of fresh air. Amar'e will be just fine when he comes back, we'll be better. Whether its off the bench, we'll be better, no doubt it my mind.

Watching boomer and carton and sheed was saying he specifically talked to woody about coming back and posting up on players because almost no players post up in the NBA anymore.

It's funny you can see he really wants to **** on the youngins. Oh man he could have been so much better too. The potential was crazy high

he could too. I really think he could still body. He is just too big and powerful

cant wait for the next game. Team looks so confident and anxious to play both ends of the court.

Shump starts automatically which is a no brainer.
STAT on the other hand is going to get starts by default unless he shows he doesn't deserve to be starting.
I'd rather have Felton starting over Kidd, he attacks the paint more.

I like Brewer starting honestly. Earl and Shump can be that spark.

With a healthy squad I see Tyson, STAT, Melo, Brewer, and Felton.

But TBH I wouldn't matter if Shump or Brewer started. They both bring great defense to the perimeter.

Obviously Sheed wouldn't have signed up to play for Pringles but imagine if Pringles had this roster at his disposal and he stuck to his 7/8 man rotation? :lol I can't even imagine how furious I'd be watching these games.

Honestly having been through the Pringles reign has made me appreciate this so much more as well. Woodson's whole aura and how he handles players is just SO refreshing after seeing post game after post game the last few years with that idiot saying "oh well the shots didn't fall tonight" and his dictatorship style of handling all the different personalities he had to manage. I will admit that Pringles had to deal with some complete knuckleheads but there is something to knowing how to deal with different personalities and how to communicate with them, and obviously Pringles was too ignorant/stubborn to do these types of things.

This season is a marathon and we've gotten off to a great start, just hope we can stay injury free.

We pick up his TEAM option after the finals. And wouldn't we? Prior to his injury he was the point guard we needed, see Miami game. No one thought Tyson would be on the market after helping the Mavs win the chip so saying we could've signed Tyson outright is a case of revisionist history. At the end of the day we traded for Melo and Tyson. Stat needs to run with the second team or as someone mentioned before the James/Wade approach. Both start and finish, but anchor different units.

1000

Amare needs to come off the bench. I don't eem want him to start.
Until they get blown out by a big team like the Lakers

Doesnt matter if he starts or not he is gonna get 30-35 min he is gonna be there at the end to close out games whether we like it or not.

I think its best to get him going early plus I think the 2nd unit is JR's team
