Air Jordan XX8 aka 2013, new "Proplate Zoom" Technology OFFICIAL THREAD.

it's hands down the worst looking jordan ever.

it's always a matter of taste. I personally prefer these over the II, XV, XIX and 2010 in terms of design/look.
I just think it's the shape that irritates most people because they are by far the most slim shaped
Air Jordan ever.
And I would have made the shroud and tongue cut lower.
But I won't wear them completely zipped up anyway.

I hear you.  But I really like the shoe and the fact that they are different is what drew me to them.  I've got plenty of retros because I couldn't get them when I was younger but now everybody has pretty much the same collection as far as retros go.  And that's cool.  The XX8 to me was a welcomed change of pace.

This :nthat:

Got in my electric blues today from NDC and i really like them. Hard to say which is my favorite now.

The print is THERMAL IMAGING, not "camo" So for you nickname folks thermal blue, thermal green, etc would be more appropriate.

Anyway here's where I'm at so far. Passed on the reds after seeing them in person and not all that interested in the yellows either. Probably just wait for the IDs now.
REPPED! Thanks for sharing, awesome pics! Can't wait to have my blues in. I'm not feeling the yellow or red really that much, but def thinking about the hardwoods and/or iD.

Finally got my black/volts today,

they definetly fit TTS, so I'm glad that I did not went half size down!
I wear them mostly half zipped down so the shroud doesn't cover the
carbon heel plate. laced behind the tongue. really love them.

I'm starting to like the blues. Preferred green and yellow over them but they look really nice. If they drop in Europe I might get them

it still is the worst jordan lol. in this day and age a lot of ppl simply have a hard time passing or sleeping on a shoe. period. they somehow feel left out or something if they don't give in and buy something they may only sort of like

Unfortunately this is the problem with JB. By all the accounts so far they made a great-performing shoe, yet they had to make it so hard for the general public to like them.

People do care about the aesthetics, especially when it comes to Jordan shoes - who have long merged the style appeal with the basketball performance side of things, by their own design. So when Tinker tries to design something as polarizing as this, the masses are gonna have a hard time getting past the visuals of the shoe. When the NBA audience sees these on the court and in commercials, their reactions still seem to be "these are ugly" and to immediately dismiss them.

If JB has to make these limited to build hype and the "allure" just to combat a generally negative first impression, that's a problem. As you can see from the people who are really looking for a pair in this thread, it's hurting those who actually want the shoe.

Bottom line I'm entering this thread to see what JB is doing with the XX8 or people's reactions to the pairs they've picked up, yet all I see is another back-and-forth between you and other members.
Ahhhhh, so the problem is not the same people whining and crying about the performance of a shoe they've never worn . . . clearly the problem is me asking them if they've worn them on court. Gotcha.

"Clearly" you didn't understand what I said the problem was... or you just want to go out of your way to be argumentative.

Sorry mods - last time I'll be hypocritical and keep this going, it just needs to be pointed out.

I was expecting these to be similar to the gloves. I used to wear those one zipped up and one down. I'd get so many looks during a game. It's not really possible for me to do the same with the xx8s because they don't fit as firm with the shroud unzipped. And I can't go fully zipped up because I have big calves and it's uncomfortable. They should have made the shroud   a mid cut.

They feel more like the pippen v. I just love zipper shoes, but not halfway jobs like the flightposites or that one Tim Hardaway had. I like a full on shroud/cover

WHAT!?!?

Man cats will post anything on here these days to sound smart

If a shoe unveiled 3 months prior and was labeled as the worse most over priced air jordan/sneaker ever, fast forward to today the shoes have been "limited" b/c the demand was initially low but now everybody HAS TO HAVE THE KICKS? If that's not a problem idk what is

It's not just this shoe like I stated earlier, I'm just saying its wild seeing people buy multiples of a shoe that b4 all star break was the worse shoe ever created

You're making such sweeping generalizations that it's hard to take you remotely seriously. The most vocal people upon the unveiling of any shoe that is new (either a new model or new CW) will be NEGATIVE.

"labeled as the worse most over priced air jordan/sneaker ever"

Huh? By who? Again, this is a complete generalization you can't back up. And those that think it's the worst shoe ever are probably still for the most part of that belief. How can you not grasp that those people would state their opinion and move on, while 3400 posts deep in this thread, there are people who have the shoes or like them? This isn't rocket science here.

"I'm just saying its wild seeing people buy multiples of a shoe that b4 all star break was the worse shoe ever created"

The shoe wasn't even available before All Star Break, and there were a lot of people excited about it before it released 3 weeks ago. You're absolutely making things up now to fit your own viewpoint.

"now everybody HAS TO HAVE THE KICKS"

Huh? This thread is still full of people who don't want them at all, people who have them, and people who like the shoe but are waiting on better colorways (like myself). Thread after thread "everyone who thought these were ugly are buying them now bc of hype and the limited label." I'm so sick of seeing this because you can't back it up with anything at all. It's a completely bunk argument.

This shoe was always going to be a series of limited runs, that's the whole point of the XX8. Limited CWs x 14, followed up by ID. If you have any kind of intuition or ability to look at this release you can see how they decided to manage it. They knew the shoe would be controversial and I think that's seen as a positive by Nike. Stirring it up, not letting these sit on shelves, it certainly gives some exclusivity to each CW and to the shoe as a whole, which is what you want with a higher end shoe.

Would you consider these a hardwood court shoe, or a black top ballin shoe?

if you ask me, I would say hardwood because of the upper material might not last too long if you get a lot of scratches when falling / sliding
on the black/top.
For the blacktop I usually wear my AJ 17, 19, 21 or 2010.
Indoor I usually like the ball in the 2011, though I think the XX8 will be great too, but haven't tried yet.

Anthracite said it best "It's hard for cats to sleep on a shoe".... As someone stated a few pages back and FLAGSHIP shoe should be readily available for consumers.

JB played the numbers game and dudes panicked and went nuts

And since u either want to play stupid or just jumped in this thread during ASW, go back and reread pages 1 to about page 80. It's filled w/ worst sneaker ever comparisons, outlet mall dreams, rotting on store shelve nightmares, and dozens of photoshops to make the shoe look better

I saw someone returned a 10.5 in black/volt at the North Bend, WA factory store. Shoes might still be there.

Those hating on these must be seeing them zipped up and think that's the ONLY way to wear them  I rock mine un-zipped with the "shroud" tucked in all around. These ***** are :smokin
