5'6 Aquille Carr Is The BEST Sophomore In The Nation; Takes Over With 38 Points vs City

He needs to get rid of that clown *** agent and go overseas or play D1 ball

Agent is a real-life version of jean raphio. Sadly, I think Carr will be crushing saltines to bread the crabcakes at Faidley's within the next 5 years or so.

Wouldn't have came close to qualifying

I feel you but I don't see basketball in the kid future in the next 10 years. So he need to go back to school to get them papers. Start at BCC if he got to.

Does Aquille Carr strike you as someone who could go to community college and then pursue a bachelors eventually?  And how the hell would he pay for it?

It's 2014...people still think college is some magic box that just pops out educated and contributing members to society.

This is a kid that went to 6-7 different high schools (I don't think he graduated either). School ain't for everybody. Son's a career baller. He'll play basketball SOMEWHERE on the map and get paid to do so. There are low level D1 products doing it...and this kid was ranked top 50 at one point.

Kid had it all mane smh. Us Baltimore dudes always trying to grab the quick cash.

Melo could have been a free agent in 2010, and more flexible like Bron, Bosh and Wade when they're rookie contracts were up for extensions.... But he got more $$ and opted for the longer contract. he said:

"I'm from Baltimore, we don't leave money on the table".

Aquille Carr, Donte Green, Josh Selby etc etc. Baltimore dudes who were short cited and chasing the quick cash.

Can't eem blame em though.

Crazy thing is...you could see this happening a mile away in Baltimore from his freshman year on. Just didn't want to believe it. Dude had incredible highs for a 5'6 pg from Ova East.

Top 40 in the nation, Team ranked nationally, under armour sponsors, elite 24 MVP, Celebrity, clout. All that.

When things weren't looking to good. Ghost.

He was never as good as his rankings or clout made him out to be though that is part of the issue here...

I like to think I'm a pretty good judge of talent..especially in my area...and this kid is the real deal from a pound for pound talent perspective.

Got to see him up close about 6 times, and he was better than the highlights. Crazy instincts, could play D when he wanted, could pass if he felt like it. Terrible shot selection and attitude though.

He was the leading scorer at the NBA Top 100 camp. That's not ideal for a pg, but very impressive. Anybody that can give josh Selby 39 as a freshman, dunk on nick Faust in the same season...all while being 5'6 is def talented.

It's telling that he's not even on a summer league roster...

That has little to do with his talent. Dude left the D league, and was averaging a point per minute.

Kiwi Gardner is on a Summer League roster because he kept his head down, and stuck with it.

I didn't mention anything about his talent because I know he's got ability. As cliched as the phrase is, the juice ain't worth the squeeze (it seems) when dealing w/ Carr.

Even if this were true...how far off is it? It's not like he was "really" a marginal 2 star prospect who was overrated. He more than held his own EVERY time the level of competition raised in AAU/HS ball.

Even even in the D-League...there was never a point where he looked a step down from the collective talent on the floor.

He can hoop....period. His height...and to a bigger extent...his life off the floor are what have him in his current predicament. Nothing else. To be that size...you can't have the issues he has in his life and flourish in a top tier league. Things damn near have to be perfect.

Basically all that needs to be said about Aquille and how he ended up where he is now....ima still hold out a lil hope that he can get another shot in the D League and stick with it this time

Crazy looking thru this thread and seeing him in vids against dudes that just got drafted or starring in College, but he basically lost in terms of basketball right now...most ppl seen it coming tho :\

From watching the video, I came away with one big question.

Who's in his corner, from a positive, fatherly standpoint? Obviously, the agent aint **** talkin about ROI, won't be no ROI if he fire yo *** :lol But, somebody should've told him stick it out in the D-League even though the money is pathetic and the situation wasn't the best. Simply, playing the season out could've easily led to being drafted, being on a summer league squad, and at least showing teams he's matured. He woulda got more overseas looks and the opportunity at 6 figure deals down the road. I don't know how it'll turn out for him

Crazy thing is shorty is from a 2 parent household, sister graduated college, decent older brother. I'm just not sure if his parents and hanger ons were really ready for him to blow up like that, and keep a shield around him.

Support system seemed good from the outside. But you never really know.

he is 5'6"
unless you are on some nate robinson elite athlete type status, you arent making the league
teams rather have a big 7ft stiff clog the lane and take a roster spot than a little guard. guys like bobby brown and pooh jeter have a hard time sticking in the nba and to me, they are better

He is an elite athlete. Not on Nate's level...and not nearly as strong as Nate but he is gifted athletically.

Nate's got 3 inches on Carr...and Carr dunks. You can't be an "average" athlete at 5'6 if you can dunk.

If you were to compile of list of sub 6 foot players in NBA history...Aquille would fall in the top percentile as far as athleticism.

Bobby Brown is 6'2 btw. If Aquille were 6'2...we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
