They didn't go to the team that was tampering. They can have any discussion they want.

And honestly, it ain't the tampering thing that got Ross. Make no mistake, this punishment was for Tanking too. But the NFL didn't want to have that circus, so they just busted us for Tampering.

We were absolutely tanking in 2019. Everyone knew/knows that. But zero chance the NFL wants that to go into a court battle. ZERO chance.

Ross needs to sell the team. I wish he was suspended for life or somethin close to that.

I could see if they initiated the conversation but they didn’t. Also it’s different rules for executives vs players. It’s no different than collusion really only being an executive level violation

Yes. Consider the circumstances/timing. Brady was an impending Free Agent. Miami could have just waited til he was officially unemployed and talked to him all they wanted. They didn't do that, they tried to coerce him while he was still a Patriot. (Same with Payton/Saints)

Hell, Miami asked New Orleans for permission, were told no, and then talked to him anyways. Clearly they were in violation.

Also, Brady/Payton share the same agent, I wonder if HE gets any sort of problem from the NFL at some point. He was likely the go-between.
