Even though I ate on footapps and SNKRS, I copped another pair on the Hibbetts restock, which arrived today. I initially questioned purchasing so many pairs since I'm likely only going to wear 1 or 2 pairs .

But after seeing them all together...

NO REGRETS.

These are my 3rd favorite Air Jordan behind Playoff 13s and white/cement 3s, and I remember for YEARS staring at pictures of fresh 2000s, and being frustrated that any future retro would be an abomination in comparison, and I was proven right with the 2010 and 2014 releases. The 2019 pair is a 9.5/10, with the 2000 pair being a 10. And if I had the chance I would stock up on 2000s without a moments thought, so it's almost the same thing, and I'm okay with that.

Yeah. I might, might, have a vague recollection of seeing it back in the day, but if I did, it must've only been once or twice. It certainly wasn't on repeatedly like the others. Hell, it's not even included in those YouTube "every Air Jordan commercial" compilations. Guess we're not the only ones who forgot, which tells me it was relatively obscure. Just interesting, anyway.
I would think it was made AFTER the 91 finals were done. Hell man I was only 10. But I do remember the crowd with all the shoes for sure.

That scratched toe box must have been done during shipping. Both my FTA and SNKRS pair hair the same scratch on the left shoe. Will keep one and return the other

As corny as it sounds

Every time I see pics like these I get nostalgia and think “man look at those 2000’s :pimp:

Then I remember that they’re the 2019’s and that I own 2 pairs of them. It’s still crazy to me that I own one of the Jordan’s I used to dream of having in my closet.
Nothing corny about that. I was born in 2000 so I obviously missed that release , the original release, and I didn't have money to get the 2014 release. Though I'm glad I didn't get those steel toe, jumpman air, infrapink monstrosities. Thank you NT fam for schooling me on OG colorways and models during my lurker days and putting me on the right path. This is my first time ever owning black infrareds and the fact that my first pair(s) ever are fairly close to the originals still leaves me in awe every time I see them. They get me nostalgic for a time I never got to experience.

*Looking at the fourth shoe* I see you know how to wear your lace locks:nthat:

Save a size 12 for me:lol:

The fact that you never witnessed Money play in a Bulls uniform yet you are up on game is dope to me. What other J’s do you have in your arsenal?

Why is the 2000 pair so coveted when it didn’t have 3m from what I understand and both the 2014 and 2019 do (let’s forget the 2010). And the 2019 has Nike Air.

because most never owned them to know how trash they were. People tend to glorify the past.

Right out of the box I could tell the 2019 had a softer midsole.

softer midsole compared to what?

Because up until 2/16, it was the only retro to somewhat come close to the 1991 OG. Aesthetically, it hit almost every mark. Nike Air was a bonus too.

Im taking these over the 2000s. Strictly from the look stand point. I seriously passed on the 2000 when they were in my hand. Not because they were bad, but because they didnt appeal to me at all. The darker infrared and the glossy midsole with no 3m just made it easy to put them down. I know those have certain details the 2019 does not, but I still like this release slightly more. (putting on hard hat right now).

2000 would’ve been perfect if Durabuck doesn’t eventually peel, and if they were more comfortable. Give the 2019 details to the 2000 shape, and they’d be perfect.

I coveted the 2000 because the OG’s were never actually obtainable to me. Even if I found a pair.. they wouldn’t be wearable.

When I got in to the game, the 2000’s were still wearable, and I often saw pics of DS pairs or old pics of DS pairs floating around.. and I lost my mind.

The durabuck.. the clear icy sole.. that deep infrared.. the shape.. the NIKE AIR. The way people rocked em and how they looked on feet.
I dont think I ever saw a 2000 pair in person but if I did.. I probably would have freaked.

I can’t really explain it, I wanted them even more than the OG’s if I’m being honest.

I keep it to OG colorways only now. I'm in college so I don't have a job that lets me go crazy on releases. But so far I've got:

Jordan I "Black Toe"
Jordan II "Alternate '87"
Jordan III "Black Cement"
Jordan V "Black Metallic"
Jordan VI "Maroon"
Jordan VI "Black Infrared" (×2)
Jordan VIII "Aqua"
Jordan XI "Concord"
Jordan XI "95 PE"
Jordan XIII "Chicago"
Jordan XIII "Black/Red"

I know there are quite a few people in here that still wear #NTDenim, but the reason I actually enjoy this release more than I did in 2000 is because we wear pants that compliment these better nowadays. In 2000 we were wearing extremely baggy pants and J’s don’t look good imo with pants that aren’t tapered. Now I’m not talking about wearing jeggins or skin tight denim, but pants that actually fit. I’ve seen a lot of fits with these that make them pop that much more.
