2019-20 NFL thread: Thread's dead. Move into spacedoodoo's

Yeah you don’t need one if you have a better quarterback than Dak Prescott and if all your damn defensive lineman don’t get popped for dirty piss tests.

I live in Texas and I want to like the Cowboys but dumb **** like this makes me want to hate on them.

Just pay Ezekiel, con Dak into taking a Tom Brady special and hope they can meet Cooper somewhere in the middle.

And Zeke is by far the most important player on offense. Dak is garbage w/o a elite running game. Zeke should force a trade.

Well.. the oline is the most important players

Smith, with his back problems the most important player.. then the guard.. then the center.. then zeke

But they still got holes on the line along with the above 3 dealing or dealt with stuff

LSU dude turned out to not be good.. and we’ll see on Texas dude they took in the 2nd

I think Elliott is the goods definitely a top 3 running back.

He probably wants a least 15 million

I did some reading and Cowboys want to pay Dak over 30 million a year? Also the floor Amari is 16 million a year.

They also need to make decisions on Jones and Smith.

What’s the cap? How many players do most teams have making over 10 million?

Nah Zeke brought something different to their offense. That oline ain't look like much when Zeke was suspended. They help each other but a RB like Zeke is more important.

Problem was oline went from a excellent and then it lost 40% of it.. those 3 guys are still all pros, problem is the drop off to backups and the other 2 spots

Easier to replace zeke than those 3 guys

Tyron smith is their best offensive player, pretty sure they’re winless without him or were that year when zeke was suspended

Their online had injuries last year and Zeke still had over 1400.

Hasn’t averaged 5 yards per since rookie year, only year he averaged 5 yards or more per

But whole offense hasn’t looked that level since dak/zeke’s rookie year when oline as top notch.. same for raiders when they had a good oline

But I personally hope they break bank for zeke, dak AND amari as oline keeps falling apart

So instead of avg 5 a carry he avg 4.7 last year. :lol

You reaching hard and Zeke caught 77 passes last year.

I’m not saying zeke isn’t valuable.. but the cowboys have dug themselves a hole of jerry’s making

Like Saquon with y’all

Tyron smith is their best player, but he has back problems.. so I’d put zeke 3rd on the list of guys I’d want, assuming Martin and Fredericks issues aren’t long term

But I don’t want to be paying a RB big money if I don’t have other things figured out and cant afford that luxury.. especially if you going let guys get into the final years of their deals and not take the benefit of paying guys earlier

It might be bad for team morale but Cowboys would be better off letting Dak's deal run out and hope to get him back at a lesser amount while extending Zeke. Who's really going to be offering Dak 30 mil or whatever it is? Looking around the league most teams have their qbs and/or qbs of the future lined up.

Yes. People make this harder than is. :lol

Dak is a game manager that needs a PERFECT to team around him he still struggles to throw big yards. Nobody is paying him 30 a year.

See Vikings/Washington professional football team with Kirk

Some team will pay him.. cowboys should have looked to trade him, then they could have gotten more than the 3rd they could have potentially got in a compensatory pick (but that’s assuming they didn’t sign someone to cancel out the pick)

Also if they were going play this game with zeke, should have moved him too.. but as an eagles fan, I’m glad all these guys along with Byron smith are being drawn out

Difference is I feel like Kirk was putting up the numbers to justify being paid like an elite qb (not that I actually consider him one). Also the qb landscape has changed since then, the past few draft/fa classes have taken out a lot of potential suitors for Dak. It's hard to see many teams offering him elite starter money if he hits free agency.

Protect Jerry Jones at all costs.

Dude learned nothing from Demarcus Lawrence situation.. sign early and you can spread out cap hits and in 2 years the deal doesn’t look that bad as other contracts come along and cap keeps going up 10 mill per

Meanwhile dak, Byron smith, amari cooper and jaylon smith are all going into their final years.. plus zeke knowing he could get screwed

The market will always be there for an above average/good QB

Half these teams aint that settled into their QBs of the future.

Time's ticking on their jobs (GMs) these days
