I agree though, personally, Nomar>Jeter. From 97-03, Nomar was a beast.

Ya Nomar used to rake back in those days, I remember when he came out on an SI cover dude was absolutely solid, he looked like a mini body builder

I would love to see someone break down why they think Nomar was better than Derek? Nomar was great no doubt.

1997 through his last season with the Boston Red Sox in 2003, Garciaparra hit .325 with a .372 on base average and a .557 slugging average. He averaged 24 home runs a year.
From his first full season in 1996 through 2003, Jeter batted .318 with a .390 on base average. He slugged .462 and averaged 16 home runs a year.

One guy was around juicers (David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez and Jose Canseco) and the other guy has never been accused of steroids........
I've always believed he took steroids. Little guy one day, buff guy the next. Turned into a power hitter one day. Then started getting hurt ALL the time like my boy Alex
Nomar might have had 4-5 better years but Jeter led a team for almost 20 years. Nomar was flashy and gaudy (juice does that) and Jeter was clutch and consistent.

I don't want to have a steroid debate but **** Bud Selig. He knew players were juicing. That list should have never leaked names. Now that it has, they should release the rest of the names.

Jeter had the better career for me. Leadership and championships say a lot.
But Nomar had the higher peak in his prime, just didn't exhibit the same consistency or longevity.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not overly impressed by Nomar's physique on the SI cover.
