This. Losses early always get washed if you run the rest of your schedule and win your division. Still have Auburn though

Just got back from a weekend with the fambs. A few points from week four...

1. Marcus Mariota is a helluva player. His OLine was buns last night, but he played great.
2. Clemson... Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
3. BYU I think has a very legit chance of running the table. If they stay focused and play their game, I don't see how they lose to anyone on their schedule.
4. Hard to tell if Bama is really that good, or if Florida is really that bad. Both teams had their issues.

Looking forward to more football, more great plays, stuff like that.

So the question remains is can a team field a elite defense while running a high powered HUNH offense?

With the right amount of talent and probably most importantly depth, yeah.

Maybe not "elite" in a traditional sense if you're judging their worth by using traditional stats.  But if you're using stats like yards per play, points per drive, yards per drive, etc.  Yeah, I think it's possible.

I see KState snuck in the top 25 but...How is Mississippi St still ranked behind S Carolina and Georgia after beating LSU?

I know both of those teams have played 2 top 25 teams each(S Carolina's schedule had TAMU and ECU in it) but both lost 1 of those games.

Think you go 3-1 IMO, depends on which defense shows up.

Arkansas not that good, Miss State (away scary game), Bama can be beaten IMO, Ole Miss very overrated.

The percentages for the SEC teams to win out are a lot lower than FSU and OU, as well as the remaining strengths of schedules for the SEC teams being a lot tougher (which is a big component for the FPI formula) It's nothing more than a projection.

I guess there's I think has more to do with the fact that the way they handled Clemson early, lost to USCe close, who got wholloped by A&M who's No. 2 (and their respective schedules, seems to be some type of transitive property going on. There literally .1 points ahead of FSU in this ranking. And I guess based on their remaining schedule have the best chance to win the SEC which is a factor as well.

No need to get the panties in a bunch, the SEC West all have to play each other, only way two teams from that division even get consideration is if FSU loses, one team is undefeated SEC Champion (Bama, AUB, or A&M) and the runner up in the division only has one loss.
