Dumb broads make it harder for real rape victims

Nah the deck is already stacked against them. The numbers for rape/ sexual assault are astronomical esp ones e that are never taken to court because of fear or shame

Which is why she'll never be punished as harsh as a rapist.

Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel, has a longer statement from the accuser's attorneys, who fire back with some accusations of their own.

"Settlement discussions were immediately unproductive as Cornwell was crude and insulting going so far as to say ‘your client likes to [expletive] football players.' When told that the client's main concern was not money but that Winston be held accountable for his actions, Cornwell threatened to sue our client and her parents for civil racketeering in an effort to intimidate them into staying quiet. After learning about Mr. Cornwell's unprofessional conduct at that meeting from Ms. Carroll, our office has decidedly not engaged with Mr. Cornwell at all or anyone else on Mr. Winston's behalf. Although it our understanding that settlement was discussed, no authorized demands were made of Mr. Winston.

Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reached out to the Accuser's Title IX attorneys, who responded to Cornwell's claims.

Winston's accuser hired two high-profile Title IX attorneys — Colorado-based John Clune and Baine Kerr.

"The facts that Mr. Cornwell chose not to disclose are that it was he himself who reached out to our client's former counsel Patricia Carroll to discuss paying off our client," Clune said in an email. "Patricia Carroll didn't even know who David Cornwell was until he called. Mr. Cornwell then himself flew down from Atlanta to negotiate with Ms. Carroll."

10:51 Update: Jimbo Fisher on the ACC Conference Call acknowledged that he is aware of the letter, but has not had time to delve into the details. Fisher said that Winston handles all the distractions well, and that limiting his media availability does help him focus on the important stuff. Fisher also confirmed that he was unaware of the letter before the reports.

10:30 Update: I reached out to Patricia Carroll, the attorney for the accuser. A representative said that they had no comment at this time but will release a statement Thursday.

Winston's lawyer responds to the accuser's attorneys:

Tries to extort a 20yr old college student for $7million .... and I'm unprofessional. #priceless

Hmmmm...why no denial of $7million demand? #sirwalterscottandtangledwebs

Will provide FSU with evidence exposing latest their latest lie.

There's going to be a retort to a retort to a retort

Back and forth, back and forth that just doesn't usually happen in the public eye or in newspapers.

Double retort tomorrow when her original Lawyer will refute Cromwell's latest claims

If you care to read the letter from David Crowmwell to FSU:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/09/read_the_entire_jameis_winston.html

And then you just wait for the Title IX results on FSU and the way they handled the situation

i dunno if he could face any issue a la Frank Shannon from OU

I don't know this Cornwell dude, but I can tell you all this yapping to the media he's doing is to turn the narrative against the accuser (it's working) and ethically "grey" and unprofessional to say the least.

Who has a settlement negotiation then immediately calls TMZ?

Gordon & Rees is a very reputable and top notch firm. I've been on the opposite side of deals with them.

Isn't this standard procedure in a civil case? Both sides throw out ridiculously high/low numbers then settle on a number somewhere between after negotiations? Like Gunna alluded to, not ridiculous, just part of the standard process.

Lawyers are trying to sway opinion by making this very public when it's actually pretty common procedure.

Greg Biggins ‏@GregBiggins 22m
According to sources, custody issues have forced '16 LB and #USC commit Daelin Hayes to head back to Michigan, new HS still to be determined
Greg Biggins ‏@GregBiggins 24m
Hayes transferred in to Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure over the summer but only played in teams first two games due to injury

Sometimes you forget these are just kids.

SC also offered Booker T wideout Antonio Callaway today. FL people, how good is he?
