I'm sure some racist boosters would likely let him walk away still if the season is poor enough.
Hasn't Les turned down Michigan multiple times? Thought that there was some sort of beef.

Why feel bad for Charlie it's just the 2nd game. I think that game was him getting a feel of how the team would deal with adversity, obviously they failed. When things started to get hard they just reverted to what they've been doing under Mack Brown the last 4 years which is lay down & quit.
It's gonna take a while to wash the bad habits from that team, Chollie isn't playing with a stacked deck.

Alin Eduoard not enrolling until January. Hope he can get through the family issues that he was having prior to this season. At least he'll still have full eligibility when he finally does go to Syracuse.

Shalala was good for the university. Brought in 3 billion dollars in donations during her time and raised the school to a top 40 Institution in the nation.
She even backed athletics. Say what you want about the Orange Bowl, but that was on the school and the city. The stadium had lots of history but lets be honest, that place was a dump. ZERO renovations occurred to it. At least that should have happened and that failed miserably.
I didn't attend UM but I have a lot of friends and some family that are alum, and they love what she did for the school. Non-alums only care about the football program so they don't really see anything else.

Exactly why I said it could be. She's do e a ton of things for the university. But we've also lost players because we hold a higher standard to get in.

Yeah I get you. I mean, I want UM to win just as much as the next fan, but I don't want them to drop academically just for wins. That's just me personally.
I just see it this way: If a kid truly wants to play for UM, then he knows what is required to get into the school. It starts with the player to get the grades. Perfect example is Trayone Gray. Kid was at the point where he was never going to qualify for UM. Did the work necessary and got in. So i don't think lowering your standards academically is necessary. It should be on the player to do what needs to be done. Easier said than done, but thats just the way i look at things. Obviously there are other factors, but this is just from an academic standpoint.

It's not so much that. He wasn't their 1st choice, the majority of the boosters didn't want him, and the impatient fanbase so I don't think he'll get the time needed to turn that program around.
That and Sumlin seeming to have the state on lock right now is going to give him an even shorter leash at least from the contingent who gives the money which talks above everything else. I have no doubt he can turn it around, it's just going to have to happen quickly for him to keep his job.

S what do you do? Fire Charlie then the next coach has to work under those same pressure terms? Point is that job wasn't an easy fix, it's going to take a while to change the culture of that team.

What makes you think that? He's tied to the AD that stood up those tired old boosters that got him hired. Charlie is going to get every bit a chance to succeed there granted the team is heading in the right direction.

It's bigger than football. Miami will miss her and her fundraising was epic for the university .
Charlie will be on a tight lease. Them boosters didn't want him there like that anyway and I doubt he could've gotten the Florida job. Didn't they have a problem with him having a white wife?
Gainesville and up is just as hick as Alabama or Mississippi

NCAA thinks they're slick and releases this news knowing that there won't be much discussion on it because of the Ray Rice ordeal. Penn State should be forced to serve out its punishment. If you're a victim, you have to be insulted by the decision today. What they are doing now doesn't excuse the culture that persisted in Happy Valley for decades.
