Russell already set himself up for failure when he went to Ohio State. Only two respectable Ohio State players in the league for the last 10-15 years. 8o

Only dudes I remember questioning Russell was JRS, Crockett and shoeking (I think).
Yeah I wasn't a fan. His play against the elite in College was very worrisome to me. Not so much so the production, but the way he played. Same now.

He's playing with an idiot coach and a weird mix of players, so you can't really evaluate him based on production. But even in college when he played the elite, his lack of athleticism was startling.

awwsome was the most vocal, I got into some debates with him cuz I thought he was being way too critical of Russell
Hey I was pretty vocal too :lol I started talking down on DLo in March.

Dude is reminding me more and more of Jeremy Lamb. I hope he proves me wrong since I hate to see someone fail, but without a doubt I'll stand by my thesis that Mudiay is the better prospect and will be the better player.

In regards to the Russell vs Okafor/Mudiay pick, also have to take into account team fit. Obviously you take the best player when you can, but Okafor and Mudiay weren't as good fits as Russell.
This could very well be true.

However, if you're the lakers, do you really care about fit when you already have Kobe, Nick Young, Clarkson, and Lou Williams all of the same team? And then you draft A PG that needs the ball to do what he does?

Doesn't seem like they had very much regard for fit on draft night.

You're saying they couldn't have used a Center?  They ended up having to go out and sign Roy garbage can Hibbert because they needed a starting Center...

to be fair I would have probably hated on russ the earliest if I watched college bb

Okafor wasn't the center they needed. I like the Hibbert move, underrated rim protector.

Not really. Everyone acknowledges Hibbert is good for that. The problem is that he's below average at every facet of the game except rim protection.

hibbert is averaging 10 rebounds a game this season, playing solid defense and decent offense
