all true. facts. locals can be bandwagon too. just like they did with the marlins when they were doing really good years ago. people who dont care about baseball jumped on their bandwagon. same thing is happening to the heat. im saying, dont discredit an organizations ENTIRE fanbase cuz of these newbies coming in showing out
no doubt...

i know a bunch of born and bred ride or die Miami Heat fans ..so I have to balance my slander so they don't get offended -- because they dont apply

he NEEDS to be! god forbid we keep tony douglas. cuz napier should start, with cole as backup. chalmers would have to REALLY REALLY show out this summer to be 3rd option ahead of tony lmao. the problem with chalmers is hes been here for YEARS but still makes rookie mistakes. often. its like he doesnt wanna be great

Not even getting into the loyalty aspect of it...

But Mario had some big moments for you guys..he more than underperformed this year in the finals..but previously has done alot for that team in big situations..wade gets the pass cause he's established via 06 and bringing in the big 3 but Rio just gets thrown under the bus after putting in alot of work previous years..

The whole team underperformed in the finals but he seemed to get the brunt of it..It don't bother me cause he's a dirty kid especially with that elbow to parker but loyalty was out the window after he underperformed when the whole Team besides Bron did so as well..

you only saw him in the finals i guess. him throwing the elbow at parker (in which parker flopped. he definitely was acting, the elbow hit him but he looked like he took an elbow from ron artest instead of being tapped by mario chalmers) is a perfect example of the stupid stuff he does that hurts the team. He averages 2+ turnovers a game and hes not even the one bringing the ball up the court most of the time. He just does ALOT OF STUPID STUFF that shouldve been ironed out years ago. Has he hit big shots for us? Yes. So what. Blind loyalty is STUPID. You cant just get a spot on the team and be good there forever. You gotta work for your position. Chalmers doesnt put in work in the offseason, he hasnt improved since he joined us. Either tighten up or ship out.

And I wasnt talking about the finals. Yall FIXATED on the finals cuz thats when the heat finally messed up. But believe it or not, they had to play over 80 games before they got to the finals...and had to win another 12 in the postseason to get to the finals as well.

Yeah, y'all can say wade is declining..but to make blanket overreacting statements like he's washed up, etc etc is really premature.

Y'all see Manu last year? Hell, even I said he was washed up lol. Missing 28 games, and averaging 19ppg on 54% shooting and having a good playoffs except finals is far from "washed up"

And I hate Wade

"Stop it bruh, you're making too much sense right now."
+!

My dude hit em with the percentages and then the qualitative ether for good measure.

Bravo.
But....
Because they're supposed to win every year? Imagine if you took what you just said and applied that to every team, what team would clear 40 percent? None. Say what you want but what the Spurs have done is impressive. Never falling out of the playoffs since 99 all centered around one player.

No tanking, no total retooling of the roster, no getting the best player in the last 20 years to take substisnally less to come there (not a shot please do not misconstrue it as such), just the same 4 main guys and interchangeable parts.

.... 3 divided by 7 is 42%. So...the heat clear 40 percent...  Never falling out of the playoffs isnt a stat anybody cares about. making it to the playoffs every year isnt a form of consistency ANYBODY pays attention to. The spurs are GREAT. but we're talking about the heat, not the spurs. Spurs are only used for comparison's sake. The heat is doing something INCREDIBLE but people choose to ignore it. choose.
But it's been 8 years since the last Miami chip..... 3/8 is 37%.

Not only that but you're putting teams through a totally scale. One two is being judged on a scale that's almost twice as long. When I said extrapolate it, you would have to apply the same scale to every team. I just took one three and made it, I must be a better three point shooter than Steph Curry even though he shot 44 percent while shooting 500 of them. That's 5he logic you are applying

Making it to the playoffs isn't something that anyone pays attention to... What? You don't even have a chance at a championship if you don't make the playoffs

Is Embiid even playing this upcoming season? :lol

I dont even care. Meeks deserved that money :smokin

Meeks is the deadeye shooter the Pistons need to surround Drummond (and Monroe?).

Edit:

If he's hitting 40% of his threes, he'll absolutely earn that contract. If he's down to 35-36%, maybe not so much.

Rebuild the Magic team. Elite big man and shooters everywhere

Worked for him in the past. I remember Hedo and Lewis was playing out of their damn minds. Hopefully he can turn Smith into something serviceable.

i think u mean since the FIRST chip. 8 years... but only 7 seasons. hence why i said 5 out of 14 for the spurs.... despite there actually being 15 years from 99 to 14. so no... its still 42% compared to 35% ( in which, 37>35) steph curry thing is a bad example. Spurs and Heat are playing the same # of games every year... So the heat have a better % cuz theyre doing better. Not cuz theyre playing less like in your example.

And no, the logic im applying is, since the first chip in the run (remember, spurs fans AND THIS THREAD AND YOU) are bragging that theyve gotten 5 rings since 1999. 1999 being the starting point because thats the first ring EVER and of the run. Miami's first ring EVER and of the run is 2006. so...2006 would be the starting point. Thats why we use those years. Cuz on an even scale we'd start the spurs at 2006. and since 2006 the spurs have only won twice. in 07 and this year in 14... just like us. We'd better stick to 99.

And i said "making it to the playoffs every year isnt a form of consistency ANYBODY pays attention to." making it to the playoffs every year... MAKING. IT. TO. THE. PLAYOFFS. EVERY. YEAR. thats like the knicks cheering that they make it to the first round every year only to get washed. making it isnt anything to be proud of. going FAR into them is something to be proud of. And i was arguing that JUST making it to the playoffs is not a valid form of consistency.

Just when I was saying Detroit got their front office turned around they give Meeks 19 million. Given, it isn't a franchise killing move you'd like to think Stan Van Gundy is better than that

the money is too much but im gonna go out on a limb and say 3rd year might be a team option?

Their cap is pretty clean moving forward depending on Monroe and Smith. I don't think it's going to kill them by any means like Gordon's or Villanueva's did.

hes not just a shooter either.

he grinds it out on the defensive end, even with his lack of size against SG's or lack of speed vs PG's.

he earned that money

A team in the same exact conference as you went to the Finals 7 times in 11 years, and missed the playoffs one of those years. You're drunk if you think that one year matters even slightly.

Sorry, but missing one playoff run means nothing. The Jazz and Blazers made the playoffs every year for 22 something years, and had a combined ZERO titles.

Meeks tries on defense, I'll give him that. He stlll stinks at it though. :lol

He was pretty good putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket this past season too. I'm curious to see if he can continue that or not.

You're absolutely right, he does "try" defensively, albeit he still gets burned.. I guess the questions that need to be answered: is Meeks a viable starter, if not, is 19 million too much for a backup? I don't think he's a viable starter but I would like to see what other backup 2-guards are getting paid

Yeah, Meeks would still get abused on D. Some teams would just clear out and iso on Jodie in close games, it was embarrassing

Anthony Morrow and C.J.Miles are giddy.

It's pretty crazy tho, all we have so far is Kyrie, and now Meeks, nobody else????

Usually deals are FLYING at midnight and we can't keep em straight the next day. Bron and co got everyone held up. :lol

Did see the Cavs thinkin about offerin to Hayward tho. Nothing yet, said internal discussions or some ****.
