I love D-Wade and all but Kobe got him, without question.

Right now, it's debatable because they could both easily suck next year.

But career wise it's not close. Mamba is a top 5 all time player, Wade might crack in the high teens.

im still waiting for these 20 sg who were better at their prime/peak then wade was at his....

I think he meant top 20 players all time, but I could be wrong.

As free agency starts, James/Bosh/Wade plan to give Pat Riley a window to enact his plan on upgrading supporting cast, sources tell Yahoo.

How exactly will this work unless Riles knows the parameters of their contracts already, which I'm guessing would be illegal. Or are they going to negotiate their salaries around whoever he's able to get, because if Bron seriously wants the max and Wade isn't playing for the minimum, their market is pretty limited on who they can pick up. I don't think the MLE is enough for an Ariza or Gortat.

8o 8o 8o

knew it wasnt that easy

Lebron aint signing on the dotted line unless they sign some decent players. hes def not that stupid

Wouldn't Miami be able to have room to sign someone for more than just the MLE? Depending of course on what the Big 3 sign for

A good chance that LeBron, Wade and Bosh take up most of the available cap space, but the Heat would use their exceptions (full and mini-MLE) to upgrade the supporting cast.

How old are you? Did you not watch players in the 80s or 90s? If you didn't, it would explain your post. I would never imagine Wade being top 20 of all time. Maybe a top 20 SG of all time?

Aint no maybe about it dude is top 5-10 easy hell wouldnt even be mad if someone said top 5.... but maybe top 20 lol

Wade's prime was 06-11 peaking in 2010.

Kobe's prime was 03-10 peaking in 2006. Post prime Kobe put up 25, 5, 5 (2011); 28, 5, 5 (2012); 27, 6, 6 (2013) at ages 32, 33, and 34 all while playing 218 outta 230 games.

Sorry it's not a comparison. Longevity or peak wise, that 02-03 season where Kobe wasn't at his best and just entering his prime (30, 7, 6) was as good as Wade's best year.

It took kobe 7 yrs to hit his prime :lol & his peak was 06 because he scored alot of points :lol

I would say his prime was 01-11 peak 08-10

Wades prime was shorter but he had a nba ready game since the start & his peak (09) is up there as one of the greatest single season performances ever

This is unlikely, but here me out; what if the Rockets' pitch to Melo is to sign with us, then we'll use Parsons, Lin and other assets (Jones, future picks, etc) to trade for Love.

Somehow they come out of the off-season with Dwight, Love, Melo and Harden. Like that's not totally crazy right?

It's just not going to be possible unless Wade in particular takes 10 mil, which I seriously doubt he will.

Bron- $22
Bosh- $16
Wade- $14
Cole- $2
Bazz- $2
Haslem- $2

= 58 million + 6 cap holds (500 k a piece)= $61 mil, leaving only 2 mil in cap space. Basically Wade would have to ask for more or they sign a few vet minimums (ie Ray Allen coming back) to even get them in the over the cap realm and open up all those other exceptions.

And I don't think Ariza and Gortat are taking the MLE when they'll have plenty of other suitors offering them maybe 10 mil a year deals.

T-Mac over Wade, now that's ridiculous. Didn't watch Gervin so can't speak on that. Iverson is a top 20 player so no beef with that.

Hmmm how much over the cap could they realistically go?

Are we turning off salary cap? How can we even do that? Sign me up if it's possible

No, if Kobe played 12 seasons in his prime and Wade played 6 seasons in his prime, it matters. Clearly, Kobe would be the better player.

Not saying 12 or 6 is correct.
he was the better player...but not because of the length of time he played great... like i said if thats the case then it would be kobe>jordan... cause mj prime was 3 straight yrs...a 2 yr hiatus then another 3 straight yrs.... surely kobe played great/prime ball for more then 3 years... but no one would say because of this...prime/peak kobe>prime/peak mj

What?

I don't give a **** about consecutive years. What the hell are you trying to say? You already said Kobe is better but you keep quoting me.

Kobe is the better player than Wade.

Kobe also had a higher number of seasons that he played in his prime.

I have no idea what's so hard to understand.

I said Wade is a top 20 SG. I'm not gonna sit here and create a top 20 SG of all time, that's stupid. Son would never be called top 20 off all time by anyone outside of NT. That's absurd.

I meant to put 01. Physically and talent wise 06-08 was his best years, not just cause of the points.

Also Wade did come into the league at 22 (3 years of college), whereas Kobe came straight out of high school and didn't see significant minutes until his 3rd year at age 20, coincidently both of them took a great leap from age 22 to 23. Wade from 16, 5, 4 in 03 to 24, 5, 7 in 04 and Kobe 22, 6, 5 in 00 to 29, 6, 5 in 01. Also interesting stat, Wade has never played 82 games in a season while Kobe has done it 4 times (would be 5 if not for that 2 game suspension for karate chopping Manu in 06)

hes a top ten.... arguably a top 5..... you said maybe 20...as a hypebeast i wanna ride kobe hard.... then realized how redic/absurd it sounded now you str8 up gregory hines tap dancing and moonwalking away from that statement...

Well they'd have to at least be at the cap to open up those exceptions, but I don't know if Arison wants to pay that repeater tax. It does limit what they can offer free agents though. You just can't offer 10 mil if you're over the cap already, which is why Bron wanting the max and possibly getting it is even more perplexing.

id agree pretty much those yrs was overall his best/peak although the 10' season id say kobe was more of a efficient scorer and was a better overall team player... I think it was the 10' season....
