When Iverson came in damn sure wasnt 6'7 , MJ was considered a big 2 guard for that time and he was 6'6 so how the hell is the avg 6'7 :lol ridiculous.

So I guess Kobe wasnt an all atar teenager in the NBA but I guess that doesn't count to you either :{, it's clear you aren't the hoops encyclopedia you think you are :lol. It's not your fault, u can only learn so much from scouring youtube and then pretending you seen it happen in context.

Bruh I was talking about right now man...the average height for a 2 guard right now is at least 6'6. Why are you even arguing this point?

And Kobe made the asg as a teen because he was popular, he wasn't putting it down like that. He was good, but not elite level talent good. He wasn't even starting at that point. I mean, is Kobe making the asg as a teenager on the same plane as what AI did in his career at his size? I don't think so. Look at all the elite wings in the league, and then look at AI. The Mean size of an elite level wing was around 6'6. AI was 6'0. That HAS to account for something.

TMac came into the league as a lockdown defender though so did he NEVER posses that ability?

Okay, when he came into the league he had no offensive load on his back at all for a couple seasons. If you want to discount Kobe for slacking a little defensively once he had increase his offensive workload, then what are you gonna do for TMAC in the SAME DAMN situation. Except, T-Mac became a very average defender once he actually had to carry his team.

If T-Mac was such a lockdown defender you'd think he would have at least one All-Defensive team selection?

Ok.

Don't copout fam lets get the facts straight since u threw those numbers out there.

What's the avg height for a 2 guard when Iverson entered the league ? You said 6'7 now if u can't back that up please sit this one out because its clear youre just making **** up as you go along.

Kobe made the all star game at 19 years old , he doesn't get those bonus points for that ? Or extra credit is only given to short guys ? Serious question

Thats where politics come into play, kobe was getting defensive team because of his name & its been like that for yrs now

So it was politics?

Eddie Jones, Larry Hughes, Hinrich and Doug Christie

All those guys all got All Defensive selections over McGrady

You don't think if McGrady was anywhere close to being great defender, he would have gotten the selection over these?

McGrady was far more popular than those guys

I don't discount Kobe for slacking defensively, it's a bi-product of having a huge load offensively to carry.

I don't discount TMac for slacking defensively once he got to Orlando, it's a bi-product of having a huge load offensively to carry.

The thing is, Like I said, Kobe's defense overall is really overrated to me from 04-05 onward. He had moments and instances where he was great defensively but overall? Nope, I didn't see it. He wasn't nearly the consistent defender once shaq left.

Tmac was a lock down defender ..

that was never true.

HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST WING DEFENDERS IN THE LEAUGE IN TORONTO. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MAN?

I'm not saying he was an all world, all time great defender in toronto, but he was for sure a lockdown defender when he was in Toronto.

KOBE IS AN OVERATED DEFENDER

THE CLOSEST THING TO LOCK DOWN WAS HIS RAPE CASE.

ARGUABLY ONE OF THE GREATEST SCORERS OF ALL TIME. HELL YEAH.

IMO HE IS DEF BETTER THAN AI AND TMAC

BUT THE SOUNDS OF "MY TEA'S COLD I'M WONDERING WHY"

FROM SOME U DUDES SMH.

Why would we be talking about the avg height for a 2 guard NOW in reference to Iverson, that makes no sense because A.I. isn't playing now so who gives 2 ***** what the avg height is now its irrelevant to the current discussion. Sounds like a backpedal imo :{

You so ready to give AI point for shortness but when it comes to youth ehhh who cares :{, yeah no double standard there brah you're neutral you got it.

Just like how melo is a top 5 player & didnt make not 1 all nba team

There's a difference between you thinking he was a lockdown defender and him actually being one....

all in all I don't hate tmac I don't Ai. They both were bad AF..

I can't hate. They aren't lj who I simply hate..
I just think Kobe was the superior player.

:lol :lol :lol so you think Kobe making the ASG as a yout when he averaging 15.4 PPG (was higher before the all star break that year though) is on the same plane as what AI did for his career at 6 feet tall?

Bottomline, I think when you look at the all time great scorers, great players, and great wings in the NBA, most had size on them. So for AI to do what he did in the NBA at his size? That absolutely has to account for something. If you disagree that's fine.

For the love of God, who cares about All-Defensive teams. Shawn Marion used to be the best perimeter defender in the league and he never made a single All-Defensive team.

Dude, no one said Kobe wasn't the superior player :lol :lol That wasn't even the discussion at hand man.
