:lol @ anyone who doesn't think Cuban is going to find a way to give Dirk the rest of what he's worth through some clever business deal.

Don't feel bad for Dirk, Cubans always said he'll take care of Dirk for the rest of his life. He'll be paid plenty outside of the nba, trust.

Cuban ain't a dummie, he'll find a smart legal business deal to repay Dirk.

I heard Cuban say on the radio that, once Dirk's done playing, he'll have a front office job with the Mavs as long as he wants. No salary cap on those kind of jobs.

the plot thickens 8o

SMH at the guy who built that franchise having to take a paycut of that magnitude.. But yea don't worry Cuban will take care of dirk because we all know billionaires care so much about their "employees"

.
he didn't have to do anything....

his owner has always done right by him, so he's doing right by his team's owner ...

those dudes have a bond bigger than basketball

Damn that if he's a lifer anyway, get your money now and get it in the aftermath. Cuban ain't hurting at all.

These players HAVE to stop letting these owners off the hook. The owners are the billionaires, you wanna compete open your damn pockets, you have the disposable income, it shouldn't be incumbent on the players to do that. I'm not sure how often in the business world that regular employees voluntarily give take paycuts to help out CEOs but I can't imagine it's often.

yap yap yap.

You mention me discrediting Jordan. You don't know what "discredit" means.

Knicks making it to the ECF is a possibility

This 2014 FA just tells me one thing more,
NBA doesn't need a salary cap.

Stop it..

Your clueless you belong in general..
Your avy says everything..
35 yrs old with a pair of space jams in your avy

lol "mate" your a 35 year old troll that knows nothing about basketball.. :lol

you can't be trusted B....

Taking less than what your worth isn't doing right by your owner, your jeopardizing yourself... regardless of the bond outside of basketball its business first.

this

onwers already making money hand over fist now its on the players to take less so they can build a winner

then a guy like Dirk who deserves every penny he can get, gets to sit around and watch a dude who's proven nothing in this league (parsons) make almost twice as much bread and for what? the hope that maybe they compete for a chip and Cuban looks out for him down the road(for what it's worth I believe Cuban will)

naaaaaah

Even if you've played for more than a decade and already have enough money for you and your family to be set for life?

Meh, it's a business. That "bond" stuff goes out the window. Guarantee you Cuban has no value in bonding when it comes to business.

Not according to NT, you must be buried in all of your riches.

And I was berated by about 10 of you idiots for saying this dude would have taken less than $10M to sign Carmelo. :lol

"But TOM PENN said this!!!" SMH :{

Some players do want to stay at their respective home teams. They have/want to take cuts for Cap Space.
You can't be ok with the Cap, and then be upset with players willing to sacrifice their money so the team as a whole can win underneath said cap.

But Dirk is really the only one who's done this so far. Pretty much every other deal that's been handed out, with a few minor exceptions, the guys are getting overpaid. Hard for me to say the players are getting screwed when guys like Channing Frye, Chandler Parsons, Dewayne Wade, etc. are all getting way more money than the probably deserve.

I'm sure that loyalty was shown when Cuban along with other owners made these guys go from getting 57% of basketball related income to 50%.

**** outta here man. Get yours while you can, in any walk of life.

So are you giving your boss back money just because he's a good dude and will look out for you supposedly?

That's not the point..... the point is someone who is the reason why a business is doing so well and accumulating 100's of millions of dollars a year shouldn't be relegated to undervaluing himself.

Then when the lockout happens we still have more owners complaining about how their not making ENOUGH money off of their teams.
