He will bring up Joe Johnson's departure as a regret before anyone else. The Suns were $833,333 per year apart on an extension before Johnson's last Phoenix season. As a free agent, Johnson felt like the Suns tried to lower his free-agent value and did not make an offer, prompting him to ask that they not match Atlanta's $70 million offer ($20 million more than he had wanted nine months earlier).

"I beat myself up about that one because we were in a position where that piece could have helped us probably extend our chance to run for a longer period of time," Sarver said.

Well what the **** do you know?

Gee, who woulda come up with that huh? Weird.

Kobe, 20/5/5?

Randle + Kobe: severely underrated, about to beast?

Bench about to be top 5 in the league?

Those of you making these predictions, what are you going off of to say these things?

I want to see what you see. I do. I've seen nothing from Kobe that suggests 20/5/5. I'm not saying I've seen him hoop lately and he's been horrible, because I haven't seen that. But I haven't seen greatness, either. And considering the age, coming off 2 surgeries, what is in your field of vision that causes you guys to see 20/5/5 from Kobe, beastmode from Kobe + Randle, and a top 5 bench?

And I'm not here to argue; just genuinely curious.

And if your response is simply "I just FEEL it," I can dig it.

Bench was damn good last season, young is good enough to be 6moy...Randle is under the radar it seems, has all the same skills as blake. For everyone that was sick of pau, he's everything pau wasn't...already mentioned kobe post-Achilles vs top defenders. This team is legitimately 10 deep and just knowing how the season usually goes, deep teams with a lot of offense do well in the regular season. Also just feel that this team will mesh well for various reasons

A lot of people point to the bench stats last year. They were up there in a lot of categories (second in scoring!!!!!!!), but that doesn't mean much when there barely any consistent starters playing consistent starters minutes.

idk about that statement, randle has old man hops while blake is just a freak atheltically...

i can argue that Randle has more skills coming into the league than Blake did coming in. just gotta wait and see how those skills will translate against nba talent.

Who's making the new season thread? 8o

As for Kobe: 18 PPG, 4 RPG and 5 APG on 42/36/86 shooting.

I don't see your point. How does that negate the bench stats? Pau Meeks and Wes were the starters. Everyone else, including Meeks and wes, were really bench players forced to start

I was going to post a video response but I'll just wait for preseason to start

42% :x :lol

i hope that does not happen, and i hope he operates in the post area more than he ever has. i'll bump it up to 44% :p

Kobe - 24, 4, 4 on 45, 38, 85

being generous with the points as i feel he'll get to the line a lot. pump, pump, shoulder bump, shot

I'm going to go with 23/4/4 on 43/33/87

And frankly, if he really did approach these numbers, I would be thrilled with him. Nobody in their 19th year should be getting 23 a night, I don't care who you are. :lol

Whoever said Randle has old man hops has no clue what he's talking about. Please stop talking.

New Poll.

We had 58% of the 83 voters say the 2010 was the best of our 5 recent titles.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Kobe leads the league in scoring this season or is in the top 3.

It's because everyone says he plays like Z-Bo, they think he jumps like Z-Bo.

The difference is, he doesn't have the double bounce that Blake does, or like Shawn Marion where he gets up, lands and back up in an instant. But still, he isn't old man hoppin.

Maybe not "old man hops" but he usually plays pretty low to the ground in game, I think that was what was meant. I wouldn't compare him to Blake.

Here we go !!!

Lakers media day starts now on Time Warner Cable Sports Net and ESPN 710 AM
