International-duty Kobe was probably one of my favorite players to root for ever.Nobody better at this time.
Eddy Curry vibe
Yes, completely understandable.Because mediocre is no man's land.I understand the 'Championship or bust' mentality, but it's like you dudes have developed a new mentality.
It's like you want every year to either produce a championship, or the worst record in the league.
Every year.
We either need Larry O'Brien, or a top 5 talent.
All.
Or nothing.
And it's been TWO seasons we've wanted a top pick.
Two.
We had the #1 picks in 79 and 82. Went for it, from 80-91.
Had to re-group, develop a younger base 92-95. Wise drafts, lottery type pieces in Jones, Peeler, Lynch, home run 2nd round pick in Van Exel.
When you have the talent base, ala 96, then you go for it. We did, til 05.
When we got Bynum, we went thru 2 more poor seasons. Then trade.
We went for it, 08-13.
TWO years, we want talent pool rebuilt, younger, cheaper, deeper, then we go for it. 2015-??
Such an easy thing to see. Folks still all locked up about it.
Nobody better at this time.
Yes, completely understandable.
Finkle is Einhorn; Einhorn is Finkle. No man's land is middle ground; middle ground is no man's land.
Roger that. You've let me and all of us know ad nauseam.
But reality holds that only 2 teams finish with a championship or a worst league record. Just 2. Every year.
Being comfortable with reality is not complacency, and realizing your powerlessness to the Lakers is not giving up.
But it appears that's how you take those 2 things.
Lakers fans should enjoy these next couple years of Kobe and then try to get a top talent from the 2017 season

It seems like most folks are championship or bust in here. And you're team tank foreva bruh.Eh, speak for yourself, it's not realistic to expect to win the title every year and it doesn't take any joy away from me supporting our guys. I do not enjoy the atrocity that was last year though, even though it had good intentions, I'm not going to be part of team tank this year. I just want to see our guys com pete even though they will probably be really bad. It's just not healthy as a sports fan to me to be all or nothing, there has to be a middle ground and natural progression 99% of the time. Can't be on top forever.
