2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

FCS champs. AP can vote for whatever team they want, even Appalachian State got votes after beating Michigan in 2007. Big reason why it's regarded as the most credible poll.

:lol there was some entertaining stuff being sad last night.

As far as harder schedules go, the Big 10 and Pac12 tried to do the interconference thing where you'd play one team from the other conference per year but that unfortunately fell through. Not that either conference is the best conference but it's a step in the right direction. RRod could have potentially gotten his "revenge" then.

Te'O = Maualuga. ? Man what?

Classic case of comparisons due to heritage instead of how they actually played on the field :lol :lol

They couldn't be more different as players coming out of college

Umm no. And no.
Same Louisville team who lost to UCONN and Cuse?
Same FSU team that lost to NC State? :lol
Neither one of them is beating ND this year.
Stop overreacting. Yes ND got thrashed tonight, but they still had some impressive wins this year and were a really good team. They beat Stanford (barely) and Stanford is much better than FSU or Louisville

Comparing games or losses in a vacuum is pretty silly. You're better than that It doesn't really work like that. It isn't a given that ND would beat Louisville or FSU just as much as it isn't a given that Louisville or FSU would beat ND.

And I don't think there is way that Florida is Ranked top 5 next year w/ them losing literally everyone who is good on their team to the draft this year, save for maybe Easley & Roberson. Bama, TAMU, Oregon, Stanford, O$U in some order

ND definitely got Master P'd last night, but still a good season for them. Golson needs to take that next step as a QB. Kelly must have had faith in him because they came out throwing and trying to get the ball to the one advantage they had last night. Was tough sledding though.

Demarcus Walker :hat Welcome to the good guys

Walker, Bellamy & Hollin and I will be a happy camper. Would finally be a year where we completely fill the need @ DE in recruiting from a quality standpoint and a #'s standpoint.

This kid is great. He's 20 years old and living it up as THE man in college. I'd be doing the same thing if I was in his position. I hope he keeps doing him....

I hope Johnny Football doesn't get out of control. Don't let all the fame and hype get to your head & maintain that dedication to football. Tis the only thing I can see holding him back from having a great career, barring some sort of unfortunate injury.

Not that I have any inclination that it will, but still.

He's definitely flourishing though :hat :hat :hat

NOT illegally popping bottles, Nako. His parents were with him that night, and in Texas a minor can legally drink if a parent is with them. It's just up to the bar whether they want to serve the adult.

I think he needs to lay low and chill out for a little bit, but the kid is a 20 year old superstar just out having fun. As long as it doesn't affect his play, have fun.

Twitter was freaking hilarious last night with all the Katherine Webb stuff, Lebron bein slick, Brent touchin his old self, but when I seen someone on there say they hope that the next time the game pans over to Webb and we see Johnny football sittin with her, I almost logged off for life. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

Darnell Dockett and the exchange between AJ and Aaron Murray yo :hat :rollin :rollin

LOL if you think that's the reason we don't play in a conference laugh.gif

Screw playing in conference, I wish the NCAA would put a rule in place where instead of playing a few cupcakes a year, everyone BCS bowl eligible school has to play other top talent.

Lets say you have every team play 12 games. 8 conference games. 4 games against multiple other conferences. But it has to be a team that finished with the same conference ranking. So lets say Bama for example. They finished 1st so they have to go and play the top Pac 12, Big 12, B1G, ACC, Big East teams of the other conferences not mentioned.

I know it'll change the landscape entirely but to me that's the best way to see whose playoff worthy.

ND can still keep some of their rival games but it should go along with the system.

Only issue is that schedules are made many seasons in advance.

It took awhile for Rey to adjust to the NFL, but Teo wasn't in the same league in College. Rey was a beast in college, just raw.
Anyone shocked by Teo getting worked probably didn't see the USC game. Dude got worked the entire game, then got a gift INT so the hype train kept rolling out the station. Teo robbing all those awards from Jarvis Jones this year, dude should be incarcerated.
RKO- Been saying that for a hot minute now, more interconference games have to happen in order for this "playoff" to gain any credibility. 8 game conference schedules, 4 games non conference, at least 2 of those can be cupcakes but 2 have to be against another BCS opponent. No if's or buts. No more than 7 home games either.
Some form of uniformity needs to happen.

I think you mean Jadeveon Clowney, clearly the best defensive player in the country.

So...
Were the South Carolina-Michigan & Clemson-LSU games the two best of the bowl season? Even though both were meaningless.

Meaningless? Easy for you to say.

The Palmetto State had TWO 11-2 teams this season, pretty impressive for one of the smallest states in the US.

South Carolina finished No. 8, its best ranking ever. The Outback win was faaaaaar from meaningless if you live down South.

Meaningless as in it's a non BCS game, is what I assume he was getting at.

Alabama led the nation in yards from scrimmage by true freshmen (2,573)

As soon as Pres. Eric Barron signs the contract, Burton Burns (Bama RB coach) will be named as the new FSU RB coach. He also was @ Clemson when they had CJ Spiller & James Davis

Makes sense as to why this is just coming out today. Will be paid around 400k

Jimbo is full on in his quest to try and be Bama Jr. Except for missing the main ingredient.

Wonder if the rumors of Saban leaving for the NFL are really true?
