This is random. I know we got swept along the way (embarrassingly), but regardless I'm glad my dude Dirk got a ring before he retires.

He's clearly nearing the end but man this guy had a hell of a career. Respect for the German. :hat

I just wanted people to acknowledge the fact that as much game as he has, and he has it all, he has been mediocre an awful lot considering the renown praise he receives.

Those W-L records speak with the volume that I have been for the past few years, tbh.

Tony Parker is a system PG who provides no value on defense.

You are over crediting team success to an individual.

See my last post. Smh

I'm gonna say this 1 last time. Tony Parker is the BEST PG in the NBA. He's the best player on his team and LEADS THEM to the conference Finals and Finals like clockwork. Tim hasn't been the best player on SA in a few years now. He still puts up numbers and plays at a All Star level with 3 RINGS and a Finals MVP. Blake Griffin had a better year then any Spurs player so STOP with the weak team argument. He also had Doc the coach he wanted. To say Paul's better at this point shows just a lack of basketball iq and objectivity.

Spurs in 6
Heat in 6

Spurs in 7 over Heat

Duncan retires with 5 and as the greatest PF of all time.

I like how a lot of Lakers fans who cried for years about "basketball reasons" are now the ones piling on CP the hardest. Guess you feel lucky you didn't get him now, huh?

you can't win with him they should be happy.

Bulls, Cleveland, they shou;ld get rid of their PG's as well, same with Tony Parker, you can't win with a PG.

it was more because of the leagues bs ruling than getting chris paul, hes a good player but I was way more excited over the pau trade and even nash (hometown reasons)

The likelihood is Chris Paul will never win a championship, so we can stop talking about this.

heat in 6, Spurs in 7.

Question.

If Indiana wins this series somehow, does that taint LeBron's legacy in any way?

Losing to a team with that much turmoil and horrific offensive play... Bad look? Or nah cause he already won 2 in a row?

I honestly don't know.
I'm just wondering what you guys think.

^nope. four straight finals is a tough task. think the c's did it.
if lebron is left with only two when it's all said in done, yeah, you could knock him for only getting a couple. but he is already an all-timer

rooting for the old guys and a piece of my youth in wanting to see timmy go out with a ring
but okc in 6
heat in 6

heat in 7...bad guys

until you address the flaws in your own logic, there isn't any point continuing this argument.

based on your logic, bill russell is unequivocally the best player of all time. he has 10 rings and 5 finals MVPs. if you value 3 rings and 1 finals mvp, how can you then argue that "future players have surpassed him statistically in a different era"?

Parker and Paul are both great players but ones a 3 time champ finals MVP and ones not. Paul isn't so far ahead of TP that it overshadows that. Game time fellas let's drop this or continue after the games.

here are some numbers for you to think about:

through their first 9 seasons in the league, (paul is in his 9th year, parker is in his 13th)

paul has played in 51 less games than tony parker.
in that same span, paul scored 383 more points, 511 more rebounds, 2340 more assists, and 850 more steals, granted while playing 51 less games, paul played 385 more minutes.
in that span, tony parker had a PER of 18.3. Chris Paul had a PER of 25.6.

in the playoffs it gets tricky because parker had played in 132 playoff games to chris paul's 50. if you take their per game averages:

parker : 18.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, .9 steals and 2.8 turnovers 48% on 2pta, 29% on 3pta and 70.4% FT PER 16.5.
paul: 20.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists, 2.3 steals, and 3.0 turnovers 50% on 2pta, 39% on 3pta and 81.6% FT PER 25.3.

with all that said, what exactly does tony parker do better than chris paul, other than have the luxury to play on a better team?

cp3 > tony parker. this shouldn't be an insult to parker. he's a good player, but cp3 is better than he is.
