Yeah I really do man charge it to overreacting or what have you, but I really do. At some point the clips were going to have to win multiple games if they were going to win in 5 anyway.

can't you say the same for paul? plays in a lot of passing lanes as well. to his credit, he does get a lot of steals though.

After he already stole 2 wins against the Lakers who had 4 ******* players at an All-Star caliber level that season. NOH's second best player tore his ACL in March and at that point their second best player was Okafor or Ariza. But sure, great example.

yeah.... Curry got knocked down left and right, driving to the hole and standing around for rebounds on defense with a blind eye from the refs. That's the help I'm talking about, BG constantly falling on top of him and no calls.... I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it would not suprise me if the NBA wants "lob city" to go deep into the playoffs...

Putting Tony Allen on island, effects mainly one player, Kevin Durant, and his impact is even more felt with Scott Drew's non offence. but a great interior defender effects not only his man but everyone who comes into the paint, including those great permiter player and it difficult to scheme against involving a great defensive big man.


The way the rules are constructed there is a limit to how much a effect one guy on the wing can have.

The eye test confirms this, the numbers confirm this, you look at adjusted plus minus, (the bes defensive measurement imo) 90% of the top 40 are bigs, hard to ignore.

I disagree. You see, in the NBA other than making a wings job harder, funneling and shading are a huge part of being a good perimeter defender. They are also the initial point of contact, so being able to contain your man, and fight through screens and rotate effectively is largely important.

The thing about rim protectors is they are the last point of defense. While a huge part of there job is to communicate, we lately have tended to slighlty overvalue bigs who just protect the rim.

The work starts out top, and if you can contain and funnel it correctly on the perimeter, it makes the defensive anchors job that much more easier. 

The true great defensive anchors are guys like dwight howard who can cover mistakes from there perimeter with freakish athleticism and instincts.
