2013-2014 NBA Thread - IND @ WAS and OKC @ LAC on ESPN

Well the year they won the Thunder, Memphis, Spurs and Lakers were all "just better."

The Dirk conversation doesn't need to be changed.  He already had one of the greatest individual playoff runs in the last decade plus.  His legacy is cemented.

He's cemented as a all time great but I was referring to the Duncan argument. If Dirk was to play 5 more years and win 5 titles (highly unlikely if not impossible) the conversation about him would definitely change. His legacy isn't cemented until he retires.

The year he won the Mavs team was better and Dirk was younger. It's not comparable.

They have the Spurs first as of right now. That experience won't do them any good. If they played LAC, Portland, GS or Houston I'd agree. Thunder and Spurs are just better. Now if Dallas got to the finals this year and won that changes the whole Dirk conversation.
I think they will have a chance against GS but I dont think the Mavs will get enough wins. I am hoping for them to play OKC and not the Spurs.

You guys think the NBA needs a White (american) superstar (not just border line allstar but elite status) or it doesn't really matter?

PG is 23, he's 4 years away from his prime.

Granger at 23 wasn't even close to PG currently.

Curious George has also gotten better every year and is 3 times the defender Granger ever was.
You really think PG has THAT much more room to grow?

As I said before, I think PG is already close to his peak. His offensive potential is through the roof. But I don't see him fulfilling it. And his defense is probably as good as it's going to get.

As for Granger, despite the injuries, he still managed to come back better every year.

Again, I like them both as players. So don't think I'm knocking one or the other.

Yes and no. Like it or not, there are a large section of former NBA fans who feel the NBA is too black now, and hardly watch it. The NBA is fine where it's at Globally, but domestically speaking, it surely wouldn't hurt to have a white elite player. Preferably a wing. it would possibly draw back those fans that were just Larry Bird fans thay hate the NBA now.

I don't think they need one. I think a better question is do the white American athletes want to be in the NBA or try their hand in other fields.

Need no but it wouldn't hurt to have one or a elite player of every race and ethnic background. Anything that brings in more fans is good for the league.

Even Drake on NT tryna save somebody who don't need saving, makes sense. :lol

This would be funny if i was actually referring to the Drake the singer- i mean rapper....
Im talking about Nathan Drake from the Uncharted games....smh

And yea keep making up excuses cuz your team is trash
