Confused.

If blake gets the clips the top spot in the west, with what he's done this year, why isn't he the mvp?

Just because its one of those things that, for the most part, you can't just come out of nowhere and win. Guys usually have to get close a few times to break through. There definitely are exceptions, sometimes undeserved (cough * Rose * cough) exceptions, but I just don't think Blake has been close enough to the MVP conversation already in his career to have a real chance of winning it.

Not sure about the logic behind a guy winning MVP when there are two other guys having better seasons.

Griffin won't get 1st all NBA team because of Durant and Bron, so why would he get MVP ahead of either?

Because Durant or Lebron's team will still have a top 4 record.. that plus what they've done this season is better than Blake for MVP.

Better seasons do not automatically entail MVP. Team success as most know, plays a huge factor in the awarding of the MVP. If the clips end up with a better record than the spurs, that would mean that in all likelihood the clips would have the best record in the league.

Because lebron and KD are lebron and KD, and will win by name alone at this point. Then add their ridiculous stats to that and there's no competition.....

There, I said it

:lol No I'm just predicting LeBron will make a push for the top seed while some people make a big deal about Westbrook and Durant running that team together

The worst case of team record hurting a potential MVP was Dwight Howard in 2011.

Orlando had the 7th best record.. if they were a few spots higher he likely would have gotten it. No knock on Rose.. but that was Dwight's award that year.. or Lebron's.

Yeah, maybe not worst.. but one that sticks out.

Kobe was another one who was penalized because of team record.

To me.. if you're on a top ten team in the league, that's good enough

Definitely, what Dwight did that year especially from a defense standpoint was unreal.

Was one of my favorite teams to watch SVG had them boys playing.

Rashard and Hedo :hat

Kobe doesn't need multiple MVPs to show he was the NBA's best player this past decade though

You're losing me. If they finish with a better record than the Spurs, why would they necessarily have a better record than the Thunder or Pacers or Heat?

But regardless, to me that's too much emphasis on team record. Like Big J said, the Thunder and Heat are near the top of the standings and Durant's and LeBron's individual play has been better than Blake's.

Kobe Bryant should win MVP, look how the Lakers are without him. Word to Peyton Manning when he went down for the Colts.

Kobe showed just how great of a scorer historically he was in that season.

Dude had bums playing with him, getting doubled every game and going off regardless.

Then next year in March he averaged

53 & 6 on 53% shooting for 5 games :x :x

Prime Mamba :hat
