If Melo goes to MIA then he'll lose all my respect as a top NBA player. Not all rings are created equal. Wade had a ring before the big 3, Bron took over the lead roll winning his 2 and Bosh is a great roll player. Melos ring there wouldn't mean as much in MIA if he won there.
I can understand people being mad at Melo for bolting from NY when is part of the reason why there is no roster flexibility...
However, I don't understand how he'll all of a sudden be thought of as any less of a player if he goes elsewhere to win a ring. Isn't that the goal of 99% of the guys in the league? To win a championship?
Does his 29ppg, or whatever he's averaging, all of a sudden look like 7ppg due to being on the Heat?
Individually, he can't do it. He either needs a lot of help (which is asking a lot of the Knicks FO) in NY, or he needs to go elsewhere and join up with a TRUE contending team.
