@NotChuckBarkley: "Raymond Felton arrested for pointing a gun at his wife but didn't fire because Knicks policy is that only Melo can shoot."
I chuckled.
Felton turned himself in, after police say his wife Ariane Raymondo-Felton—who filed for divorce last week—brought the gun to police and said she found it in her home. New York has very strict laws on unregistered firearms (that's what earned Plaxico Burress nearly two years in prison) and Felton has been charged with second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, both felonies, and misdemeanor count of fourth-degree possession.
J.R. Smith denies headband grab
Knicks guard J.R. Smith denied pulling down Vince Carter's headband during New York's game against the Mavericks on Monday, despite video evidence to the contrary.
NEW YORK -- J.R. Smith playfully tugged at Vince Carter's headband in the fourth quarter of the New York Knicks-Dallas Mavericks game on Monday night.
After the game -- a 110-108 Dallas win -- Smith denied what replays clearly revealed.
"No, your eyes were playing tricks on you," he said with a laugh, repeating the refrain a questioner used. "You're reaching for that one. I [already] got fined once for that s---."
Video showed Smith tugging at Carter's headband with 10:54 left in the fourth quarter after the veteran guard hit 3-pointers on consecutive Mavericks possessions.
Carter seemed to laugh it off.
The NBA might not find it as amusing. Smith was fined $50,000 by the league in early January for attempting to untie two of his opponents' shoelaces.
He was later benched for one game by Knicks coach Mike Woodson for his shoelace antics.
