I've seen plenty of John Wall games. Just because you can dunk doesn't mean you should be in the contest. He's not an extravagent dunker nor does he have ridiculous flight. Let's be serious.

Na Wall definitely has elite leaping ability, combined with his wingspan, he can do special things.

Dude went behind the back in a game

I'm more questionable on Dame, his dunking has never impressed me.

looking forward to see what wall and lillard can do cause we already know PG is throwing down 360 windmills in games

Harrison Barnes is my concern.

Not really feeling the format change, dunk contests should be an individual competition not a team event.

:lol

I would love to hear more of your explanation as to how he's not an "extravagant" dunker or have ridiculous flight.

I really think you have never seen him play.

Wall has bounce man, what are you talking about? :lol

He may not be on the level of Russy/DRose before injury, but dude can get up there. He was throwing down some nasty dunks way back at Kentucky

they were getting 6 blocks a game from their front court.  THAT is elite.
Clarify that stat please? Six BPG over 82 games? The playoffs? Finals? In this case you have to specify. I can't remember if they average 6 BPG in the finals against the Lakers. Either way, they were outmatched in the finals.
Ok ok, I mispoke, I just remembered that that 6'ers traded Ratliff for Mutumbo
For some reason, I forgot that too

As far as Lebron's early Cavs teams, they were severely overrated. He's such a good team player, he really did mask how garbage a lot of his supporting cast was. Prior to Miami, the best he ever had in his career was Carlos "Black Ice" Boozer. Then Cleveland let him walk. I been saying for years if I was Lebron, I would have bounced after that. They showed no effort to give him help.
I feel like this is overblown, that year Lebron was giving them 27, 6.7 and 6, and was by far their best player, but they had some solid players on that squad

Larry Hughes gave them 15, 4, 4 and 1.3 steals

Big Z game them 12, 8 and 1.3 blocks

Gooden gave them 11 and 8.5

with 4 other players averaging between 6.6-10 ppg

thats a solid team imo
Fair point, BUT numbers sometimes lie fam. As "solid" as those numbers were a lot of the times (as evidenced during play) it didn't amount to much when they faced the better teams in the league. It's like when the Cavs had the league's best record back to back years. I took notice of that, they seemed to have light schedules early on, and especially at home. It's easy to pad stats early on bad teams and later on lose to tough teams but have the numbers there to justify a solid team. You have to adjust to how they perform against teams that were in the upper echelon of the league.

To further clarify, I was referring more to Mo Williams, I can't stand dude. I think he's a bum.

Maybe I just miss seeing those teams fail gloriously every year.

LeBron winning is so sad for the league.

Bet Riley going to give PG24 baby moms courtside seats to every game in the ECF so he shoots 25% from the field.

I'm curious as to how people feel about this,

in the world of sports, who would you consider the better athlete:  hyper athletic NBA players ie:  Bron, Iggy, ect....or guys like Wilson Kipsand (the fastest marathon runner) ever who completed the 26.2 miles in 2:03:23?

like, I'm sitting here looking at these marathon times like DAMN

Athleticism is NOT a universal term.

Ones level of athleticism is really, just how individual physical adaptions specialize them for a particular sport.

West africans (ghanna, nigeria, decedents of most american/jamican slaves), are suited to power sports, football/basketball adaptations against malaria gives you a higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers, the climate of africa gives you longer limbs and a shorter torso, narrower hips which makes it easier to cool the body.

Europeans, environment gives you a longer torso and shorter legs to pack in heat, great for swimming, its like the hull of a boat, longer hull, faster ship, Micheal Phelps is 6'4 but wears 32 length jeans

Example, the list is filled with, north Africans, not simply because they live in a high altitude but because the high altitude lack of malaria means they don't have fast twitch muscle fibers which use less blood, (less blood/less oxygen), but they still have long slender legs, narrow hips. skinnier legs = more efficient running longer legs = longer strides

point is athleticism is something we really only apply to popular sports.

Read The Sports Gene if you want more info interesting book.

I'm predicting the dunk contest will be wack....yet again. Wall might surprise us but I don't think he has anything special. Those that haven't been paying attention to his jumping ability might be surprised though.

Lee's net impact isn't as great as it looks because he's a complete negative defender. He's been the empty stats champ for years, dude will put up nice numbers but offers no resistance or toughness on the other end. Any solid floor spacing PF who plays defense would be a major upgrade over Lee.

The 'slasher' was supposed to be Igoudala, but for some reason he's been playing like a jump shooter which he is not

Bosh is the 10x better than D lee defensively

10x's better ? :lol hes better just not 10x better

Really curious where Bosh ends up, he's not staying in Miami no matter what happens this year IMO

Kyrie Irving was ill and did not participate in #Cavs shootaround FRI in DC. He is a game time decision
