Zeke wasnt blessed with that much talent as a coach

Yea I agree, but my point is Kidd has no experience what so ever so it's not gonna be a cake walk for this Nets team like most people think. Being a point guard and being a coach who controls everything the team does are two different things. I still think they'll finish top 5 in the east but his lack of experience might show come playoff time when crucial decisions and plays need to be made.

Thank you.

The guy hasn't coached in his life ever and it's hard for me to think the Nets have no disadvantage when it comes to coaching. Your intellect on the court doesn't necessarily translate to coaching success. You really think his inexperience won't show when coaching against vastly superior coaches in Thibs, Vogel, and Spo?

Kidd isn't lying to himself or anyone and acting like he's this master coach. He understands that he needs to rely on his assistants for the nitty gritty stuff. He has top notch assistants for offense and defense and honestly, YES, someone with no experience is going to be much better than those two guys. If you watched them all season or even in the playoffs, you'd know that. I don't blame you for being skeptical but I think at worst, Kidd is an average coach. Not a game changer but still respected. PJ Carlisimo was a giant NEGATIVE and he was a huge reason for the fact that we lost to the Bulls third string team + Noah. Feel free to not read past this point if you don't give a damn about last years Nets :lol

Playing Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace together for 30+ minutes a game (two guys that can't shoot or space the floor) and running the slowest offense in the league is unacceptable in today's NBA. It's why any team that was smart enough to leave Reggie and Wallace wide open and pack the paint DESTROYED us. Thibs FEASTED on this man in so many ways I don't even want to get started. He played lineups in the playoffs that didn't play A SECOND together in the regular season. Not because matchups dictated it either. Just pure incompetence. He benched Brook Lopez (our only all-star) in entire 4th quarters so often that management had to tell him not to do it again. Made absolutely no effort to develop our bench. Relied on Stackhouse for playoff minutes. He's a guy that takes care of the media and has been in the game forever, so he'll probably get a shot as an assistant coach but he's stubborn, not very smart and hasn't adapted to the new-age NBA. His time here and with OKC say it all.

I don't understand this. Paul Pierce, KG and AK47 all put in all-star caliber years last year. Why do SOME people act like we've added players that havent done anything in years?

Also the casual NBA fan can't comprehend the upgrade in coaching the Nets got. PJ Carlisimo and Avery were absolutely garbage and we were lucky to have enough talent to beat up on sub-.500 teams. PJ was so irritating I felt bad for judging Sprewell for choking him out.l

So replacing those guys with someone who has absolutely no experience coaching is an upgrade? Not saying Kidd wont be a good coach but he has no experience so It's hard to project the outlook of this team. Coaching matters just as much as the talent on the roster. Look at the Lakers last season.
Ok..

so now we gon act like jkidd didt play a PG in the NBA for 20 years... thats enough experience to study the game bro. c'mon now with this dumb talk.

Isaiah Thomas

Edit: y'all hella beat me to it :lol

Man Derrick Rose Jumper looks distinctly different and in a good way.

There's no hitch or pause on it like it used to be. It's much more smoother and streamline. Straight up and straight down with no pauses at his peak. I look for him to shoot it very well this year.

Respect to Doc Rivers for telling Chris Paul "You have a respectable resume, but you haven't really done anything yet." Love that from Doc.

Yea doc is so great. I cannot wait til he trades for kendrick perkins. You know cuz the celtics were undefeated in the finals with perk in the line up...

Yep. At this point in their careers, they're still very productive. They're just not 1st (or even 2nd in KG's case) options anymore which is why the situation in Brooklyn is perfect.

If you need Garnett to get you 20 a night, you're in trouble. If you need him to play good D, knock down open 16 footers & occasionally post up for you, then he's absolutely perfect.

And Pierce was 19 ppg on 56% TS last year, 38% from 3. He is a MASSIVE MASSIVE upgrade over Crash who was giving them 8 ppg on 28% from 3. MASSIVE upgrade. And defensively, once you get past Bron & Melo (who both routinely torch Crash BTW) Pierce can adequately defend every other 3 in the East.
LOL Pierce can defend George?

That's why I added "MVP" so there would be no confusion between the two.

LOL Pierce can defend George?
I don't see any reason he can't defend an inefficient 17 ppg guy who chucks up a bunch of contested threes & is just average off the dribble, not to mention he doesn't consistently take or make free throws.

George saw Pierce twice last year & shot 11/40 (28%) in the meetings. That's simply not a matchup Brooklyn will be losing sleep over. Melo? Sure. Bron? Of course. Paul Freaking George? No.
