@ all this Melo on the Bulls talk.
I mean you either believe the Knicks would do a deal or that Melo would walk and leave the money and the Knicks would let him
if he doesn't go to miami, id' bet it's the clippers. don't see him going to the lakers in the shape their in right now.Speculation on where Bynum goes after the bulls waive him?
I'm sure he'd love to go to Miami, but with his poor and immature demeanor who knows if they'd want him there disrupting things.
Great move by the Bulls. The Bulls will have a lot of cap space as I think Bynum will be released, and the Bulls will amnesty Boozer. Add in the fact that the Bulls will have possibly three top 12 picks at their disposal, as they will be a lottery team in next years draft, the Kings 1st rounder acquired is a possible top 10 pick, and Bobcats pick also. The Bulls can use the two 2nd round picks to build a formidable bench by acquiring some serviceable players in a trade.
at the thought of the Kings somehow not getting a top 12 pick this year
Maybe/hopefully next year tho
That is too much IMO, just to rent Luol Deng. Even if he did stay, it still feels like way too much.
The Sacramento pick is basically lottery protected till 2016 or 2017 before it turns into a 2nd rd pick
Reading this
Sacramento's 1st round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016 or 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Cleveland by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Cleveland will be extinguished)
Ehh, maybe. I still like Atlanta, they are a disciplined and well-coached team and I don't see them just tanking without Horford. And Toronto, they are playing really well without the cancer.Well, they have 23 games left against East teams that aren't the Heat and Pacers, and another 11 against under .500 West teams, so that's a start towards arbitrary 42.
But I said the third best team, not the third best record at the end of the season. As in, from today on.
and the bulls free some early cap room too.. cant knock the move.. lakers should've took that bynum deal when they had the chance.. bynum and picks would've been great for themEhh, maybe. I still like Atlanta, they are a disciplined and well-coached team and I don't see them just tanking without Horford. And Toronto, they are playing really well without the cancer.
But speaking as a Wizards fan, if Wittman isn't fired I could easily see Cleveland finishing ahead of us.
The Bulls front office did really well with this move. They have to be one of the frontrunners for a top 5 pick now, plus they have those additional draft picks. That's how you tank and rebuild.
Deng has been hurt for about 5-10 games this year for Chicago he was definitely a game changer for the Bulls when playing though. I think he's a top 5 SF when healthy and will help the Cavs defensively and offensively. I do agree with the Cavs record though. Might be a lost cause record wise but they are a deeper team to contend in the east if they can actually get it together and make a playoff run.Really? Okay, let's say the 3rd-seed finishes with 42 wins this year (it was 49 last season, but this is a very weak year obviously). Cleveland would have to play at a 31-17 pace with Deng to get 42 wins.
You really think Luol Deng can turn an 11-23 team into 31-17? Remember, this is Luol Deng we're talking about, not Lebron James or Kevin Durant.
If Deng was that good the Bulls wouldn't have been just 14-18 with him.
I think Cleveland is a good bet for the 6th spot now. But there's no way that a team that dysfunctional automatically becomes the 3rd best team in the East by adding one fringe All-Star player.
