It's funny how those who have never played the sport are the ones who are the most critical of the players/coaches... (i.e. Stephen A Smith)

Let The man finish his career first then well talk all time! Until then I'm sticking with MJ and he is not even touched :smokin

I hear this argument all the time and its completely illogical.

You can be critical of the president without ever having been a politician.

Stephen A Smith played in college, and while he never played professionally, I can point out a myriad of coaches, gms, ect in every sport who never played pro ball

with that being said, no one gets more excited than bill simmons when a ex NBA player agrees with one of his theories

^I agree. Those who can, do..Those who can't, follow SAS on twitter.. (SAS: Who the hell is Chandler Parsons?)

Simmons trades are great when he's serious and when he's trolling like Asik - Green

Right because having the real Jeff Green is meh.

Now if he woulda said Asik for Millsap then I woulda been like ayyyyyyeeeeee...

why are dudes acting as if this trade is blasphemus Asik is an average starting center. Great defensively and on the boards super avaerage on offense and he's arpund 26-27 and is CLEARLY not a fit with the rockets current lineup. them getting green would open up the floor dramatically for Dwight & Harden. Green is undersized at the 4 but against the top teams in the west it's not like you need ben wallace in the post.

OKC, GS, SAS, LAC all have forwards who aren't going to go into the post and bang and most close out their games with a small lineup. If i'm houston and that's on the table along with a spare role player i'm taking that deal.

not a good comparison imo, bc dwight can't turn and pop :lol

the situations i'm talking about, dwight is getting downcourt, getting right underneath the basket, pinning his defender and turning. the ball NEEDS to be in his hand as soon as he turns and puts his hand out. instead, the pass takes too long and he has to get out of the paint to avoid 3 in the key

That's what I'm saying. I'm not highlighting the SHOT. I'm highlighting the ENTRY PASS and the ways that they need to get him the ball for a post up to be more successful than a pick and roll. It's not as easy as just walking down to the low block and putting your hand out. And for that reason i think a p&r oriented offense would be better.

Because #1 linn is not he best of dribbler and he could use a good pick for separation. And #2 harden is very ball dominant. Can't see him walking down and waiting for Dwight to seal a whole game

^LOL... If Millsap is being shopped, I'd rather have him than Green. Asik an average starting center? He's a top 5 center in a league where centers are lacking. Asik as the backup 5 or starting 5 > Jeff Green as our answer to the 4 spot. Heck I'd take The Manimal over Green for Asik

If Asik could catch the ball and shoot free throws he'd be a top 3 center. I swear most of y'all in this thread don't care about defense at all
